There’s really no joke here, just noticing that for a career that gets a notoriously bad rap, these folks are a fun crew to hang with.
The notion was put out that these things could become semi-regular. That, and the next one might be in a Westside location.
Queen Bruin: As I was out today doing some holiday shopping, I walked right past Apple Pan!!! Unfortunately, I had just eaten, but now I know where it is! What was the Mexican place you were recommending?
Brad, I’m glad you found the Apple Pan, the delight of my heart. Or is that killer of my heart, delight of my cardiologist?
El Parian is the other restaurant I was talking about. It is one of only two locations (the other is a Taco Cart of unknown provenance in East LA) to get a five taco rating from the taco bandito. And the tacos are, indeed, a wonder to behold. Their tacos are a little expensive (compared to stuff off a taco cart) but huge and delicious.
I had SUCH a blast bowling, I cannot begin to say. I haven’t had that much fun in a long time. You guys rock.
Just to be clear, I don’t want to be lumped in with those other lawyer-types. I’m just a lowly paralegal, but I sleep with a clear conscience. 
I had to chuckle at the thought of trying to organize an Apple Pan Dopefest – we could rent out the place and still only get maybe 15 of us in the door. 
Just read Brad Serum’s post and realised with a shock that yes, 4 of us were in the same industry.
Asimovian, don’t sell yourself short to all the lovely Dopers. I haven’t forgotten YOU helped me out with something when my own paralegal was like “duhhhhhhh???”
