Quite the opposite. The point is that I should be all the “crispy” you ever need! All you did was demonstrate that I wasn’t good enough for you.
No, I thought you took my life into your hands. After all, having assembled this rag-tag crew, I felt somewhat responsible for your actions. Including prodding random men’s pant legs underneath their table. And not even mine! sniff
But Jake would not be happy if I cut you up with a knife and fork and ate you, so this was the next best thing to show you my reverence and not piss off your wife!
Well Jake may not have been there, but Spiny Norman sure was! I’m not sure you could take him.
It’s true, you did, but I’ve never seen anyone pour drinks quite like that. I think I could have gotten the same amount of Bombay Sapphire at the grocery store for my $15 (or whatever it was). That’s pretty incredible!
Shayna was playing footsie? And not with me?
By the way, I wanted to add that it was a great pleasure meeting all of you and that I’d be more than happy to see you all again sooner rather than later. Hopefully somewhere like San Clemente or Laguna Beach–can’t a guy catch a break here?–but I do love L.A. and I wouldn’t mind driving back up.
Ehm - what? Is this some Amerricun code talk that furriners aren’t supposed to understand? Or should I be really worried? Actually, I am really worried now. Help!
You have excellent memory, Scout. I went from 310 lbs. down to 240 lbs. Unfortunately, I’m at 250 this week, so I should have skipped the waffle and beer and stuck to the chicken salad. The weight loss was accomplished over a 9 month period back in 2006/7. Diet and exercise, diet and exercise, diet and excercise.
ctywkr, no problem…hope you doing better.
As I recall, he was looking up football scores for Highwayman.
Flightless Bird and I were talking mostly hockey, which I discovered his late arrival was due to his hockey game (I mean, c’mon…the shaved head and a copper beard is a dead giveaway for a hockey player!), which spurred more conversation about hockey in general and sharing stories about youth hockey (my son used to play), rinks and the Kings. Maybe a little WoW, too.
Sorry for the goofy pics, everyone…that’s me being me.
Wow! That’s a pretty sizeable loss. I would’ve pegged you for less than that, actually. You must be taller than me. (Hard to tell when everyone’s sitting down.)
For the record, Yeticus Rex and FlightlessBird, I’m pretty sure I’m the only Kings fan in San Diego. They’ve been a little painful to watch the last few years, though, and I must admit I haven’t seen 'em this year. (To be fair, I haven’t seen any other hockey games this year either.)
