I do trim it with a beard-trimming-thing, but not that close. Perhaps I should. Dosen’t solve the summer bikini issue, however, and I’m just too much of a wuss to wax.
There will not be a Hitler moustache look in my future any time soon. There will also not be a drunk man with a razor anywhere near there. 
I’m with you guys too. Its just a personal preference- I think pubic hair is sexy. Perhaps its because women spend so much time on their bodies- shaving stuff off, concealing, hiding, enhancing, etc, its really exciting to see a part of them that they don’t need to mess with.
I was rather surprised how popular shaving off that entire area was for women. Up until a couple of years ago, I thought that was something only porn stars/strippers did (admittedly, those were the only women I saw in that state) then I found out my friend’s 2 female roomates also shave the whole caboodle off.

Thanks, we all need the world at large’s opinion on how best to wear our girl parts. And we know those of us who go bare or semi bare are really just trying to attract the pedophiles of the world.
And as for “burns, razor stubble” etc., there ARE other ways to de-fuzz than shaving. As I said earlier, some of us like the feel and look better when bare or partially bare, I love the way everything feels all silky, soft and smooth. Doesn’t make us perverted Lolitas trying to be prepubescent or “juvenile”.
PS, there is also a way to get bare, or partially bare without waxing. email me for details if you’re interested, it could be too TMI for some.

Myself, I use a regular disposable razor, and I’ve never gotten cut.
It is nice and clean, and in the summer, even cooler.
Some time ago, in a rare instance of boredom, I stopped on HBO and caught part of an episode of “Sex and the City”. The subplot involved this very subject. Cynthia Nixon’s character made the same accusation aimed at men. She basically said men who want women to go bare secretly want to have sex with preteens.
Having seen quite a lot of internet porn, shaved seems to be the norm, although there are plenty of natural types there, too.
Shaven, natural, I like it just about any old way. Variety is the spice of life, after all. Hell, do some pubic topiary.
That’s fucking hilarious. And as a girl, i happen to agree. If you spread it adequately, you shouldn’t have a problem.
As for me, my natural pubic hair goes beyond my swimsuit area, as in you could see it at the top of my inner thighs. And girls with lotsa pubic hair know that those long 'n curlies can kind of chafe your innermost area if you don’t trim. So what I do is, I shave some on the sides (not as extreme as a mohawk), and trim the rest with a trimmer. It’s not super short, but enough to be comfortable.
Several years ago I tried shaving the whole area. If I didn’t do it every day I would get prickly. Gawd, it was such a pain to shave every single damn day. Dealing with razor bumps, etc, just was not worth it.
My current boyfriend has never voiced a preference to me about my pubic hair. But if he said “hey, why don’t you shave it all off? I think it would be sexy”, I’d tell him no freakin’ way, and I’d tell him why I’m not doing it. And if he insisted, I’d tell him to fuck off.
But he’s hairy like a Wooky, so I know he’d never complain about *my * body hair! I’d never complain about his either, 'cause apparently I like Wookies 
Given that my figure somewhat resembles the Venus of Willendorf, any suggestion that shaving makes me look like a twelve year old girl will be met with derisive laughter.
I don’t find it a chore to stay shaved. I do it in the shower, with a good razor, and have never had any stubble/razor burn issues. It’s just as easy to maintain as shaved armpits, and is a choice I enjoy because I like the way it feels. That it pleases my partner or partners is a secondary matter.
Gah, to clarify, since I don’t want to speak for anyone else, it’s just as easy for me to maintain as shaved armpits. Everyone’s body and experience is different.
Here’s the deal:
It is easier to perform cunnilingus if the hair is trimmed or absent. At least, that’s been my experience with all the muffs I’ve had the pleasure to dive into.

Not that it’s a dealbreaker for me. And for the record, if a girlfriend wanted me to shave, any place on my body is OK with me…except for my head (I love my dreadlocks too much).

I get it Brazilianed. I feel that as an Indian woman, once I started getting obsessed with all the other hair on my body (legs, arm, embarrassing) that I might as well get rid of everything down there, too. I refuse to shave, though, because my skin is too sensitive. If I’m not able to leave the countryside for a while I just let it grow out until I can get to the salon.
It’s sex, people. Everyone has their own preferences.
And FTR, I do shave all of it - every bit. It doesn’t have to be “stubbly” or anything. It’s curly, goddamnit, even more so than usual since the hair on my head is curly, and it’s annoying. It’s black, and dark, and my skin is not that dark. And it’s thick - thicker than the hair on my head (go figure). As for cuts, well I use the Venus razor and haven’t cut myself anywhere since I started using it.
I like the feel of it when it’s smooth and hairless. And that’s all that matters, I think.
I think it’s just a matter of respect to keep things clean and trim down there so that my guy doesn’t have to hunt through a forest to find what he’s looking for. Ftr, he keeps his trimmed as well.
I’ve kept mine fairly minimal since I started dancing 10 years or so ago. Once I got used to smooth, I don’t think I could go back. It just feels sexier when certain parts are smooth, and you don’t have to worry about looking like an ape in a thong or a bikini.
But then, I’m a girly girl too, and au naturel isn’t really appealing to me. I wouldn’t go without shaving my legs or my armpits, so I certainly wouldn’t go without shaving “down there.”
I have shaved it all off in the past and haven’t liked it. Beyond the whole I feel like I’m twelve and the stubble issues, it makes me pee funny. I know that sounds weird but I wind up peeing sideways. Plus, it just seems to be so much sweatier…
I prefer smooth, the wife prefers smooth, and it has never been an issue.
