What Pygmy Rugger said. Almost - I don’t fully rest my head on my husband’s arm. I usually plump up my pillow and leave space between it and my shoulder for him to slide his arm under.
I absolutely love it. Especially on cold winter nights.

We don’t do this much anymore. She isn’t much for cuddling; I think because there is no position in which one of us isn’t having some body part fall asleep. Back in the day, my wife would use my arm as a pillow.
I love spooing but it’s not a sleeping position. I like to spoon then roll over and sleep, and spoon in the morning before getting up.
I started seeing this guy recently and while we haven’t forked yet, we have spooned…and he is a great spooner. And just an all-around good cuddler. I love to sit around on the couch and cuddle.
My friend used to have a tshirt that said “spooning leads to forking.” Hah.
i too am also a furnace - courtesy of a thyroid that won’t play by the rules - but the dive master is just about as bad. we can spoon for a while either before or after sporking, but eventually one or the other of us crisps out and has to retreat to cooler environs.
any spooning during the morning hours invariably leads to sporking. 
I put it right along the front edge of her pillow. That way, she’s partly resting her head on it, but most of the weight is on the pillow so she doesn’t cut off the circulation.
And normally, we’re able to fall asleep in that position, but at some point in the night we roll apart.

Although it is fun. Spoonette seems to like it too. 
Spooning is nice as foreplay, and that’s about it. If we’re just cuddling, it’s okay I guess, but I’m also a walking heater and get way too hot. Come to think of it, he also ends up complaining that I’m too hot.
What I prefer is to lay face to face and drape a leg over him. It’s cuddly without quite as much body contact, and my other leg is free to sprawl. Honestly I’m just not a cuddler if I’m trying to sleep. I need cool space and room to flop limbs around, or I just can’t do it.
With the ex-SO of several years… we would spoon before sleeping and would wake up spooning. Both of us would flip a few times during the night, but the other would just flip too. Spooner became spoonee and roles reversed throughout the night. We both loved it.

Oh, my no. I just get to be hot all the freaking time - all the calories I eat go directly to my belly.
And, of course, if I actually do manage to get chilled, it takes hours for me to warm up again. Granted, it takes a lot for me to get chilled in the first place.
I’ve never understood this question. I’ve only spooned with two people, but in both cases the arm fit nicely and comfortable under the neck, if you follow me. Both arms straight forward, one on top and one beneath, the head above and the shoulder under the second arm.
One of my spoonees was over 20cm taller than the other, so it can’t be a height issue. What’s the problem here?
Ha! That happens to me too. He only does it to me under extreme protest, but I always spoon my suavecaveman just before and just after sleep. I occassionally will spoon him in the night if I’m cold or have a nightmare, but since he tends to change positions rapidly there is a good chance that I will get headbutted if I stay too long (back of his head meets my nose or eye).
