When you seat your royal behind upon the porcelain throne, do you pull your skirt down (the way you do with pants/underwear) or do you pull the skirt up around your waist?
I suppose it depends how tight the skirt is. My skirts tend to be short and tight, but if the fabric is stretchy, I pull it up. If the fabric has no stretch (thing a business suit), then I unzip and pull down.
I refuse to wear a skirt ever, ever again. But back when I did, I pulled it up over the waist.
I wear skirts a lot (personally, I find them much more comfortable than pants) and I always pull them up.
I always do short skirt down long skirt up. Its habit to pull down, but i am weird about my skirt touching the bathroom floor if its long.
I chose two:* Entirely Depends entirely on the cut of the skirt* and Pull skirt up over waist, which isn’t exactly correct. To explain, I *prefer *to pull it the skirt up to my waist as avoiding having my clothing touch the tile is a Very Good Thing. Public bathroom floor tile has an ick factor of astronomical proportions.
However, sometimes it can’t be avoided to drop frau trou to the floor. Pencil skirts: there’s simply no way a whole pencil skirt is going to transcend my hips. Also, linen skirts wrinkle at the slightest provocation. One simply cannot be scrunched up at the waist for any session longer than quick tinkle or it makes you look like you just had a quickie atop the copier.
I have gotten my skirt caught in my undies twice in two days by pulling up. It is down from now on, baby!
I’m most comfortable wearing pants; when I wear skirts I use them in the same way.
I find it very distracting to have to hold on to my clothes during business (such as when I’m in a dress, or the floor is dirty).
I have never - not once in all my days - pulled my skirt down to go to the loo. I always hoik it up around my waist.
And further, I am officially boggled to hear that other women do pull their skirts down.
I usually pull my skirts up, but denim skirts get pulled down like jeans.
I’ve got pencil skirts that you can’t pull up. So down it is.
That’s closest to me, I suppose. I wanted to see if I was the only one, or if most women had a preferred system one way or the other.
Oddly, I’m the opposite of at least one of you (“I always do short skirt down long skirt up.”) because for me, my short skirts tend to me harder to get up over my hips (pencil shape) and if I lifted a long skirt up, I wind up juggling so much fabric while otherwise engaged (wiping) that I’m afraid I’d drop the hem into the bowl.
I don’t think of our office bathroom as “public” in the same way as, say the local bus depot, and because I tend to work later hours I can vouch that the night cleaners do at least give the floors a cursory mop every day (which, frankly, is more than I can say for my own home, and I can assure you that no cats are barfing on the bathroom floors here at work.) So I’m not worried about my skirt touching the floor because, well … I don’t eat off my skirt, nor do I make out with it in any way, so “germy” fabric swishing around my calves doesn’t bother me.
A special shout-out and thank you to Brown Eyed Girl for teaching me the phrase “frau trau.” That’s great!
I almost never wear skirts, but I do wear choir robes on a regular basis. Pants go down, the robes go up.
I knew it; I knew I was going to come in here and find some outlier who pulled her skirt DOWN.
I mean, I never heard of this before. Why would you do this? Then your skirt will be puddled on the floor. Of the bathroom!
Only at the Dope!
Mostly I wear skirts or dresses. Dresses, of course, must be pulled up. Skirts also get pulled up.
And why not? There are many cats who would enjoy barfing on the bathroom floors there at work. Just get a couple from the local Humane Society and point them to the potties. Problem solved.
Likewise.
Lies, that’s no radio button, that’s a ticky box!
I am, however, a skirt-wearing lady-type person and skirts go down if they are below knee length pour moi.
Pants go down, skirts go up. I don’t think I own any skirts too tight to go over my hips, but if my new diet is successful perhaps I will rethink my wardrobe options.
A wise, kilt-wearing man once told me; You can do more with your skirt up than your pants down.
And I’m suprised that so few women do.
