Interestingly, she did a few different MJ dance moves- including crossing herself. The only GIF I can find of him doing it is this (ha), but she does it exactly, including the bit after.

I was delighted to see those freaky Alexander McQueen hoof shoes make their appearance in the video – I should have guessed they’d appeal to her.

I think I am going to have nightmares from that video. It reminded me of the Cremaster Cycles.
I didn’t see anything remotely close to human trafficking. And it didn’t look even a little disturbing. It just looked like generic and dull to me–where was the creepy atmosphere? The trafficking?
Well, I thought the video was somewhat interesting - honestly, it reminded me of a Marilyn Manson video. A lot. In fact I would go so far to say that she cribbed many of the images from him. However, I’m totally comfortable with the fact that he cribbed the images from someone else before him, so no harm, no foul.
The song, on the other hand, was typical over processed pop dreck; however, pop isn’t really my thing so if experts/fans say it’s good I’ll take their word for it.
I must say, it was as pleasant departure from the ego-fests that Mariah Carey puts out (assuming she’s still considered pop). God I want to punch that woman in the face.
And finally, can we just clear up the whole ‘Lady Gaga is intersexed’ thing? There are shots of her with a tampon string showing (God would you just DIE! Fire her handlers!) - I’m pretty sure that precludes her from being a boy. Or even kind of a boy.

I thought the song was too long and too slow. I cant comment on the quality of the video cause I have not seriously watched videos since the 80’s. Given the choice I would perfer just dance over this one, not sure where she is going in her future , but I hope she comes out with more dancable stuff.

Say that Shakespeare is the best author in the history of the planet. But now someone comes along and says that he’s sub-par because his illustrations aren’t very good. Then another person comes along and says to him that what they’re going to do is find an illustrator and release all of Shakespeare’s works as, actually, the illustrator’s work, and give all the glory, fame, and the majority of all of the money to the illustrator.
But now let’s also say that 99% of the time, people are going to enjoy the works of Shakespeare without any illustrations at all.
Does this seem like a very far or logical system? To me it strikes me as meaning that people aren’t celebrating the work of Shakespeare, rather they’re grudgingly slogging through the text (99% of the time) because the one illustrator guy draws boobies really well, or something. And yet, they’re not calling the illustrator an “illustrator” they’re calling him “the author”.
I don’t like the song or video, but I admire that she’s always ‘putting herself out there’ (as it were). It would be safe to just do the typical video of some party where the lyrics are more literally played out, but she does this arthouse weird thing.
Like I said, I don’t care for it, but I like that it’s well done and different.

It doesn’t really seem all that different to me, though. It looks like a Britney Spears video to me but with weirder fashion and a slightly different song. There’s nothing new here to me.

Having your period isn’t really sexy and reminding the world that you’re just a regular chick who gets cramps, and bloated, and zitty, and sore boob-y, and grouchy really doesn’t enhance the fem-bot, uber-girl image, ya know?
