Laid off and loving it

My most recent job was as a QC manager on a job that had US Army Corps of Engineers oversight. That’s bad enough, but the project was in trouble from the outset. Working with government employees just made it a more special sort of hell. With a month left, I was laid off, but I wasn’t exactly the favorite son of the fascist assholes anyway.

Anyhoo, I’m unemployed and thrilled spitless to be so. My wife says she’s glad that I’m back from the dead, my stress is gone, and I don’t care if I ever hold another job. YEE-hawwww!

Hurrah for you Chefguy! I just quit my toxic job (four years and ten months I was there) and two days into my self-imposed unemployment, the weirdness is beginning to wane. Hope your next job is your dream job

I loved not working until I ran out of cash. Then life blows. Don’t take too long enjoying your freedom (unless you’re rich or something, then have at it).

That’s the best part. At this point in my life, I really don’t have to work anymore, although that could become boring. Maybe part-time, if something appeals to me. No more drudgework in jobs I hate! Huzzah!

This job sucks, I would love to leave it. But I also like eating food and sleeping indoors, so until I find another one this will have to do.
