I watch both LEtS and Krusty Gets Kancelled last night, because of this thread. I see the season also has Selma’s Choice, another classic! That one tonight.

It was a great show. Those first five years were some of the best TV ever made and subversive in its day.

I agree. On a slight tangent, Season 5 has an amazing number of great episodes.
Not to derail the thread, but the Homer/Giant hoagie sequence in “Selma’s Choice” kills me everytime.

I still wonder what were the “original” third and fourth lines to Lisa’s song. The lines, “We’ll fight 'til we drop, the girls and the fellas / We’ll march to the death or else fold like umbrealls,” do not match Lisa’s lip movements.
And in the 25 years since then, I can’t remember any subsequent reference to Lisa’s braces don’t even think about replying "Dental Plan"
Perhaps all those episodes take place before “Last Exit to Springfield”? I.e., it is set sometime late in the Eternal Year in the Simpsons Universe.
I thought she got invisible braces at the end of the episode once Homer’s dental plan was reinstated. Maybe she STILL has the braces after 25 years.
You have to wear braces for at least a year, and Lisa is still the same age, 25 years later. So they are still on her teeth. Straightening.
She probably had them off sometime before she became President, though.
I assume her braces are never referenced again because of a court decree, similar to the end of The Principal and the Pauper.
And yet, Lisa did mention it again only 7 years later.
