Was the funniest in ages…
“Paper… Snow… A GHOST!!!”
I was laughing so hard that it physically hurt.

I would have to agree, but I think the high point for me was Danny DeVito. But Joey WAS funny, that’s for sure.
And poor Chandler… “What did I marry into?!?”
The new series has started in the UK. I am looking forward to finding out why chandler says “I am a pretty little girl”
Ichiban!
Last night’s episode had some really good moments. What did he say? “Dude, why would a ghost be in my fridge?”
The 80’s flashback scenes were a bit weak, but the rest of the show was very good.
I thought Matt LeBlanc (Joey) was great…gives me hope with his new series next year. Maybe he will be the next Kelsey Grammer and be able to carry the character on in the next series (cleverly titled, “Joey”) and make it work.
Although I’m not a huge Friends fan, I watch it with my wife.
I’ve read about this new series and I don’t have much hope for it. I just can’t see Joey becoming a complex enough character to hold the show. They had better get some pretty good supporting cast to make it work.
But the ghost in my fridge line was funny.
Did they ever explain why Joey went to the winner’s circle with that guy? I don’t remember there being any explanation about the change of gameplay.
I loved Joey in the winner’s circle–I don’t know any Spanish words!
The best moment was when Monica put her hands to her lips–You were my first kiss?
It was pretty funny, which is has not been recently. I always hated that game show. I like the last one he didn’t get, too, which is the one you’d think he WOULD know. “Women Chandler could never get,” or something like that. The 80s flashback was OK. I am a bit disappointed that they keep adding flashbacks where Chandler and Rachel meet in the past because it ruins the continuity a bit. When they meet during the first episode, in the coffee shop, she reacts as though they had never met before. The longer the show goes on, the more we find out they had indeed met many times in the past. I can count two Thanksgivings and now one make out session in college. Oh well. She had just ran out on her wedding, I suppose she was in a bit of a frantic shock.
What frustrates me even more is the flashback show they SHOULD do, and one they even ALLUDE to in the pilot, is why Monica was not invited to Rachel's wedding. She apparently was her best friend in high school, so what happened between them? I find it somewhat annoying that they avoid somewhat obvious flashback topics like this while create obtuse and somewhat out of the blue flashbacks like the one the other night.
I have a feeling this episode was taped a while ago. In the episode 2ish weeks ago (wherein Chandler and Monica got the house), Courtney Cox was starting to look pretty pregnant. In this episode she didn’t at all. Since she’s a very slight woman, they may be tossing in episodes like this one to delay showing her filling out.
I think that was English.
Now, see, I didn’t like this episode at all. I’ve been a Friends watcher since the first episode, but Danny De Vito as a has-been stripper was simply embarrassing, and Joey can’t be that stupid. I can buy not getting any of the senatorial clues (filibuster, legislature, etc) but surely he would have been briefed on the rules of the game and known not to mention the word while giving clues.
I also found the Rachel/Chandler kissing scene a bit out of continuity, since it was established that the only two people she knew of the gang were Ross and Monica.
Ross and Monica finding out they had kissed was just gross. Ewww.
There’s only six episodes left, and sadly, unless they are humdingers, this show is ready to head off into the sunset. I miss the early Friends, but the later ones…meh. I’d rather watch old West Wings on Bravo.
Plus that time he hit on her back when Central Perk was a bar and she was there with some of her Westchester friends.
Still, regardless of the continuity problems, they’re usually funny enough to let it slide (this one no exception).

Maybe Rachel didn’t recognize Chandler because his hair was different.
