I agree, this was a great episode of a consistently great show. I didn’t know Innes directed it, though; she did an excellent job.
What’s the story with the rumor I’ve heard that Julianna Margulies (sp?) is leaving the show? I was hoping she’d get together with the hottie new doctor. . .
It’s not a rumor, Margulies is leaving. They tried to get George Clooney to come back and sweep her off her feet in her final episode, but he didn’t want to do it.
And I agree, that was one of the best episodes of ER ever. I knew Kellie Martin was leaving, but I thought it would be at the end of the season, not the middle.

That reminds me of another question: When the parents died, Luka (hot Croatian doctor) and Carol explained to the kids that when they saw them, they would have various tubes and stuff sticking out. Why didn’t they just remove them?? Especially the one in the mouth - they’d have to take it out at some point, why not before the kids came in?

The actor’s name was Adam Goldberg. He had a role on the unfortunately short-lived “Relativity,” IIRC.

Boli, I know when my grandfather died they left the breathing tubes in until the doctor signed something (the death certificate?). I repeatedly requested them to remove it, but apparently there’s a procedure that must be followed. No doubt to avoid lawsuits…
