Due to my own stupidity, I missed the 4/22 episode of Mad Mad House. Would someone please tell me what happened? I saw the end of the elimination ceremony, so I know who’s left. The ads for the episode hinted that Fiona and Loana had some sort of falling out. What was it about?
Oh, more of the same drama. Fiona announced a ritual and invited everyone to participate. Loana played the Christian card again and started jabbering about how she wouldn’t participate if she was going to have to recite spells. She ended up not participating and Fiona got pissed.
Later, Eric left a flower and a note on Fiona’s pillow and signed it with a star, a call-back to his Tarot reading where the last card was the Star. Fiona decided it was from Loana and put it in the center of her sacred circle for the ritual, building the ritual in part on the assumption that the note was Loana’s and therefore Loana was present through the note.
It later came out that Eric sent the note. Fiona and Loana ended up in the kitchen together and Fiona started weeping about how she’s given and given and given some more to Loana and she’s empty in here (pointing to her heart, although she should’ve pointed at her head instead) and Loana wept back about how she’s tried and tried and tried her darndest and has no clue what Fiona wants from her. Which since Fiona is a scatterbrain, I’m totally on Loana’s side here.
Thanks, Otto. I agree with everything you wrote about Fiona. She’s by far my least favorite person on the show, even outranking Eric the Rat on the loathsome scale. It would be nice if there was a way to eliminate her.
In fairness to Fiona, Eric might have thought he put a star on the note, but what he actually put was a pentagram. She might have taken that as a mesage from Loana that although she did not care to cast spells, she respected the Wiccan symbols and whatnot. After all, Fiona had had much interaction with Loana just before and not so much with Eric. That said, Fiona clearly has the hots for Eric, and he is playing her like a cheap banjo.
See, Fiona said it was a “pentagram” but it sure looked like a plain old five-pointed star like anyone in grade school drawing stars would make, without there being any mystical significance to it. Fiona assumed it was meant as a “pentagram” and further assigned meaning to it, which if she were as sensitive as she claims to be, should never have happened. Then, when she finds out that she made wrong assumptions about the note and its significance, she took the embarrassment of it and externalized it into anger at Loana. Loana was completely right to be flummoxed by Fiona’s behaviour because Fiona was being completely ridiculous.
Both she and Ta’Shia have made really good poster children for the unreality of their alleged powers. Fiona here and Ta’Shia when she asked her ancestors if Noel was still using cold medicine when he wasn’t and she got a “yes” answer.
