Doty didn’t make much of an impact in the 2000 election, but made for a lot of fun as a guest on “The Daily Show,” which he apparently thought was a serious program, and completely clueless that people were laughing their asses off listening to him. His recurring line about his name, "Charles R. Doty–that’s “D,” “O,” “Cross the ‘T,’” “Y.”
Anyway, I read something recently that he had died in 2003, and was thus unable to add a little humor in last years campaign.
