If Bieber’s publicist has a lick of sense, there will be a statement to the effect that his intention was to point out that in a just world, Anne Frank would have been just another teenager with nothing to worry about other than singing into a hairbrush along with mindless pop songs.
My gut feeling, though, is that the most sophisticated thought he had during his visit to the Anne Frank House was how her experience related to his own fandom.

Anne Frank was a fan of the movie stars of her time. Her father would give her fan cards (like baseball cards, often a bonus with a pack of cigarettes or something like that) with photographs of the stars that she would hang on her bedroom wall. So yeah, I could see if 13 year old Anne Frank was alive today, she’d have posters of her favourite pop stars and actors of this time up on her bedroom walls. Sure, quote Bieber’s statement out of context and it’s outrageous.
The only thing I find more outrageous about this incident is that I find myself posting to a thread about this guy and actually defending him. THAT is just WRONG!!
