Can anyone translate:
Ow! Stop! I said stop it! Ow! Hey, watch the ball sack! Ow! Stop! Stop eating me!
into Latin (I play Julius Caesar in a skit- he’s mistaken for Caesar salad and eaten. I was asked to do this part in Latin, I don’t know why)?
NOLI ME EDERE = “Don’t eat me!” Or NOLITE ME EDERE, if Caesar is talking to more than one person.
I’ll give it a shot, but it’s been 15 years since I saw the inside of a Latin classroom.
Ai! Desiste! “Desiste” dico! Aheu, attende aminum ad scrotum. Ai! Desiste! Desiste me edere!
If Caesar is addressing more than one person, change every desiste to desistite, attende to attendite and animum to animos.
Note that there are no silent vowels in Latin: attende, desiste, and edere are all three syllables each. But ai is one syllable and aheu is two because ai and eu are diphthongs.
