Law and Order, Jury something mumble

Did anybody watch this? It was nice seeing Jerry Orbach again, but the show was a crushing bore, despite the efforts of Bebe whatsername.

I liked it. The focus shifts to the legal process, which I find appealing [pun intended].

Plus, it has Amy Carlson. Damn, she is smokin’ hot! She has the most beautiful eyes I’ve ever seen!

I thought it was OK. Better than CI, on par with the original L&O, but not as good as SVU. It’s interesting to see some of the behind the scenes stuff. I also like that there’s a distinct sense of playing the hand they’re dealt, figuring out what the best tactics are (on both sides of the aisle).

Always did like Candace Bergen, also. Interesting that they brought Carey Lowell back for a cameo (she’s a judge?!).

When I first heard about the show several months ago, it was said that she was going to be one of the main characters. I dunno if that’s the Bebe Neuwirth character or what.

As for me … I watched it tonight for Jerry Orbach. I doubt I’ll be seeking it out again. It may be my least favorite of the bunch (SVU’s currently my fave).

“Welcome back my friends…Come inside come inside…”

I felt it was rather uninteresting, I was waiting for the moment when the prosecutors would find “the thing”, and would thus win the conviction. Seeing the work behind the time spent in court was intersting, but not interesting enough for me to watch it again I don’t think.

And did anyone else think SVU this week was, well, weak? They’re taking Elliot somewhere and I think it’s going to end with him shooting someone, in a bad bad way. We’ve known he was angry, but geez, he is angry.

First, what was up with Jerry’s hair? Did he get implants or was that just a makeup job because of the chemo? (Damn, I miss Jerry.)

Great cast (I liked Carlson in Third Watch), interesting angle, but the writing is cliche, and GEEZE, did they REALLY have to use sex in the second scene of their very first show? I find it insulting.

And I hated what they did to the theme song. Ack.

I definately thought it was extra makeup. Poor guy was looking pretty gaunt. L&O just lost it’s only nostalgic hold over me.

I gotta say that was one weak twist for the court ending:

Hmmm, just how are we going to bust this guy’s story? If only we had a recording of the crime in progress. Oh we do? I guess that’s that then. Sheesh.

I miss Jerry – he was great in spite of being weakened and obviously not at his best.

I’ll defend this show – in spite of the loss of Jerry (which is a heavy blow). I love the machinations behind the scenes and love watching the parry and thrust of tactical strategies being played out.

I think it hangs well with SVU, L&O and is better than CI, but plan to check Chris Noth out on CI as soon as he fully moves in.

They are dangerously close to having they’re own network – maybe they’ll end up buying Court TV and change it to L&O TV.

Heretics! Blasphemers! Pigeon-fanciers! :stuck_out_tongue:

I liked it–I thought Bebe Neuwirth did a better job than worse on the whole. It’ll be one to watch out for, definitely.

I hated the rendition of the L&O theme. It was screechy and shrill.

Candice Bergen smirked through the whole thing, which I found first distracting, then annoying.

I’m really sick of Fred Thompson’s politics.

Loved Amy Carlson in Third Watch, but she looks like a fish out of water in this turkey.

Bebe Neuwirth was trying hard not to be Lilith, but not always succeeding.

Lastly, while the inner workings of the legal system are interesting, how many variations can you run on the same information?
