Lazy guy going to Berlin

I’m going to Berlin in early August and need a place to stay for four or five nights. Could someone tell me where I can find relatively inexpensive youth hostels and the like, or even recommend one?

You could get a copy of either the Lonely Planet or Let’s Go “Germany/Berlin” book and there’d be a whole listing of them.

The library usually has it, if ya don’t wanna pay 15 bucks or whatever.

Site of the regional youth hostel association which has three youth hostels in Berlin. Site of another nonprofit youth guest house. Open Directory category on Hostels/inexpensive lodging in Berlin; most sites have got an English version.

Thanks, tschild, that’ll do the trick!

I reccomend the “Circus” or the Hotel Hardenburg-Garni, Berlin.

The former is a Hostel, and the rooms are small but reasonably comfortable. The main problem is really annoying shower facilities, in that the water blasts out cold for a moment, then gets warm, and you have to keep punching the button to keep it one. No, they do not provide towels. However, they have a Net cafe, and the staff is top-notch. Great people. Its located two stops away from the eastern traffic hub of Berlin, and there are all kinds of bars and restaurants there. If you use it, take a night to eat at Miseur Vuong’s vietnamese restaurant, and then stop at the T.T. bar on the way back.

The Hotel is a great place, located right by the Western traffic hub in Berlin. Its right next to the Kaiser WIlhelm Gedechtnis Kirche (Memorial Church), where there is an eternal open market, and the very finest shopping you can find in Berlin. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and more or less modern. In the mornings, there is a wonderfully big continental breakfast with great German breakfast food.

Of course, if youa re really rich (guessing not), you can go into the Hotel Adlon. I reccomend you take a look-see in there if you can.

Since you’re looking for advice, I’ll move this thread to IMHO.
