Mom was just recently diagnosed with this - she was throwing up periodically without the acid taste.

You might want to reword this and post it to GQ. I’m sure QTM would be able to give you some info on it.
From your description, it sounds like her stomach doesn’t produce as much acid as usual, hence the term lazy. But, this is just a pure WAG.
Well, I’m looking as much for personal experience as information, so that makes this more of a MPSIMS thread.
