Least favorite Muppets?

  1. Elmo. Just annoying.

  2. Ernie. His whole shtick was playing little pranks on Bert. That gets old REAL fast. Even if Ernie was so cutesy-wutesy and Bert was boring, Bert still didn’t deserve the continual hassle. (And no, Bert is NOT evil.)

I kind of like all the muppets, but Grover can get annoying. Elmmo and Telly also annoy.

Elmo. Tickle the little creep to death!

I could do without Miss Piggy.

Grover is the poster-monster for Ritalin, that’s for sure. But I think he’s wonderful anyway.

Well, I gotta say Prairie Dawn. The only one I didn’t like or see the point to. Why make a muppet that’s as close to a real person as you can get? And on top of that she was annoying and whiney. All of the other muppets on either show were fine by me. Miss Piggy, though at times her voice was annoying, was great in comparison. At least her character changed from time to time. Prairie Dawn was always on perminent “whine” about something. But that’s just MHO.

Does anyone remember the old MTV sketch comedy show The State? It was genius. One of the sketches they did showed a dinner party finishing their meal, when the question was asked “What kind of meat was that? It was delicious!” The hostess informed them that it was Muppet. Then they had the husband hunt for Muppet (luring them in by asking for help with typing his shoe), and the wife reminded him to “try to get a blue one, since we only have red wine.” It was hilarious.

It’s probably better if you SEE it instead of just reading it.

Weird! I don’t remember that show, but I remember that skit.

I love all muppets! Well, ok the little otter I think he was in that Christmas show that they air on Nickelodeon at the Holidays with the jug band and the talent show. Sorry, I don’t know the name of it or him.

I never cared for two Muppet Show characters: Beauregard the janitor, and that handlebar mustache guy with the boomerang fish. Beauregard never seemed to fit in; he always struck me as being kind of a sad, lonely outsider. Lots of pathos, yes, but not really appropriate for the show. And the boomerang fish guy was so ridiculously over-the-top it seemed forced to me, as if the Henson people had smoked a lot of dope and made the concerted effort to create the silliest character they possibly could.

Telly Monster. Whose idea was it to make one of the main characters (well, before Elmo started taking over) a neurotic, worrying, fraidy-cat nebbish? I still worry that Telly has turned thousands of children into psychologically-fragile adults.

Lew Zealand.

i agree with prairie dawn. i hate that pink weasel.

my favourites are captain breakfast and waldorf and statler.

what guy who wanted to draw a Y was pretty cool, too. he was tough. he should take care of prairie dawn.

I always found myself annoyed by the Swedish chef. He was not amusing in the least. Gonzo rules!

Miss Piggy is the most annoying muppet in my opinion.

On the Muppet Show there was another female pig who tried to steal the spotlight from Miss Piggy, but I don’t know her name.
BEAKER!! BEAKER!! BEAKER!!

That would be Emmet Otter’s Jug Band Christmas. I didn’t care for the flick a lot, but I liked the “Riverbottom Nightmare Band”. Sometimes I put on a rumbly voice and sing that…

Miss Piggy definitely wins the prize for most annoying. When she gets angry, her voice is just too much to take. It grates.

Muppets Tonight introduced some new characters, among which was this . . . clown. I don’t remember his name, nor do I wish to. His absence from the movie (Muppets From Space) did not go unappreciated.

Miss Piggy gets my vote because she always stood up Gonzo.

Miss Piggy:

You don’t like my voice? HIE-YAAAH

Me:

Miss Piggy, miss Piggy, no karate chops in cyberspace, especially not on my monitor. Stop it

Miss Piggy made my skin crawl, just the grating voice.
