The list is misleading at best. It might be true that no Americans were killed by Iraqi citizens in the US in the years 1975-2015. I don’t know. But I’m reasonably certain that some Americans have been killed by Iraqis. We did fight two wars there and all. Similarly, I recall some unpleasantness in Somalia.
Which is not to say I support Trump’s order in any way. I hate Trump, and I’m deeply afraid of the direction we’re headed. But, fighting ignorance and all that. I don’t think fighting fire with fire is a good idea (the fire department generally uses water), nor do I think fighting ignorance with ignorance is particularly effective.
Since The order that the list is offering evidence against is specifically related to preventing people from coming into the U.S. for fear of what they might do in the U.S. , I would say that focusing on what has been done in the U.S. is directly on point and not misleading in purpose.
There have been refugees coming in for years. Name one incident that any one of them has committed.
I think we’re mostly in agreement. I think it’s a bad chart because the data is not described accurately. I’m fully willing to accept that, for example, no Iraqi has committed any terrorist act in the US. And I further agree that this is one of many reasons why the exec order is fucking bananas. I just think the chart is badly presented.
