Leftover Hamburgers - What to do?

I had a cookout with some family/friends. Which left me 3 1/2 hamburgers. Any suggestions on what to do with them? They were 1/2 lb pre-cooked so they’re pretty large.

I’m not very inventive with left-overs. Usually I just reheat and eat, but I don’t want to eat that many hamburgers.

Make chili!

Just break them up and use as you would any cooked ground beef. Tacos. Casseroles. Pasta sauce. Lasagne. Shepherd’s pie. Stuffed peppers. Dirty rice. Sloppy joes. Stroganoff. The possibilities are nearly endless.

I love dirty rice, so I’ll definitely do that one!

Huh. I’m familiar with all of those words, but they appear to be in an incomprehensible order

This would not be an issue in my house. I love the savory flavor and texture of cold leftover hamburger. Four walks past the fridge, each with a “well, just one as a snack can’t hurt” and they’re done. Time to come up with an explanation for what happened to the kids’ dinners!

I don’t like cold burgers, but I’d just nuke them and throw them on a bun for lunch the next day. Or yeah, if I happened to be making pasta or casserole or something I might break the leftover burgers up for those dishes.

I don’t like having leftovers of a meal I used leftovers to make in the first place though. So usually I try to eat the leftovers by themselves, or on a sandwich or something, so there’s no “second leftovers”.

Technically, it’s only Shepherd’s pie if you use lamb or mutton. It’s Cottage pie if you use beef.

I found this out myself when I used chicken, and went down the rabbit hole of wikipedia trying to figure out what to call it.

As for OP, it’s just precooked beef. Use as it you would uncooked ground beef, just with less cooking :stuck_out_tongue:

I never had it as a kid, but my wife’s family calls it “Farmer’s Delight”, which seems like acceptably meat-agnostic name for the dish.

Yeah, or bread. Reheated burgers are fine. (Don’t forget the cheese.)

At our place, anything that doesn’t get eaten as-is, gets put into a tortilla.

I only use ground beef in dirty rice if I’m making it out of a box. If I’m making it from scratch, I use filtration units.

I’ll eat 'em. Ship my way.

Incidentally, today I wrapped up some of that chili in a large flour tortilla. Instant beef and cheese burrito!

But yeah… If you don’t want tacos, you can crumble the beef into a flour tortilla, add some Tapatio, nuke it, and roll it up with some shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, maybe some sour cream…

I’d probably make beef strokinoff.

Leave your sexual peccadilloes out of the cooking thread!

LOL. My brother and I are so immature, we always called it that. Also, salt and pepper turns into “salt and pecker”. Why yes, we like South Park, why do you ask?

But your picadillos are welcome.

Don’t you have a dog?

Someone should come up with product that would help you with that.

Invite me over next time you’re planning on making them. There won’t be leftovers, trust me.

Serious answer: Hamburger helper.

Crumble and use in a breakfast frittata.
