Got to final Ganon over the weekend but wasn’t prepared to battle so I just watched his attack moves and let him knock me down.
I wanted to get the ancient armor set and it’s upgrades and ended up destroying my Hylian shield in the process of taking down too many guardians for parts.
I guess there’s a way to buy another but it involes a lengthy multi-part sidequest.
The castle has been fun to explore and makes me wish they had more dungeons in the games besides all the shrines.
I’m at Zora’s Domain. I, apparently, have to beat up this scary Lional guy. (Is that his name?) I never cook, I hadn’t bought any armor yet… I have 3,832 rupees. I know the next great fairy I’ll meet will charge me 1,000 to upgrade my cloths.
I’m currently in Zora Armor that the great fairy, (the first and only one I’ve met,) upgraded it’s defense.
Though I have a list of recipes on an app for my phone, why waist food that will restore 13 hearts when I only have 7? I know some give you yellow hearts… but I want to save everything because I’m worried about getting rid of something that’d be useful in the future.
I also have to meet the Zora prince, and I was really hoping to get the map to that region before anything else.
I just got through that area. It’s Lynel, I think, and you don’t really have to beat it (if you are just attempting to get shock arrows - you just have to sneak around) - but I’m curious how you got that kill the Lynel quest without meeting the Zora prince.
I took down my first Divine Beast and it was a really cool dungeon.
Anyways, I’m loving this game. Zora’s Domain was unlike anything else I’ve yet seen the game and I was happy to see it. Just amazing all the little surprises dotted around the map (I’ve ‘done’, to a point, basically the bottom SE part of the map and am happily surprised that I still have so much more to go).
I had met him before, he told me he’d be up waiting for me… I also was tasked to take a picture of the beast.
How do you collect those arrows? after he fired them? How do you dodge them?
There are arrows stuck in trees and rocks all around the area he’s in. So you can just sneak around the top of the mountain, staying a good distance from him, and never fight him. Just look for the sparkles.
Cool… Thanks.
Hey, what minerals can I sell that are just meant to be sold for rupees and have no other purpose?
They are all used for various armor upgrades, but I think only for level 3 or 4. By that point it’s pretty easy to get a bunch hunting around Death Mountain or killing Taluses. I say sell them.
I decided to take on Lynel. He’s dead, but defeating that jerk cost me most of my weapons…
Now should I head to the devine beast Vah Ruta? Or am I going to need more weaponry for the future?

Vah Ruta was the first divine beast I took down so I think I only had 4 hearts at that point. Just make sure you have plenty of shock arrows and a decent weapon to slash away at him.
Yeah… I think I need more weapons. Thanks Hampshire!

I’m surprised you have so many tree branches. Are you not picking up weapons from defeated enemies? Even a regular Boboklin club is better.
I’ve been exploring all corners of the map recently and have about 80 of the 120 shrines done. However, one area I have yet to find is in this trailer at exactly the 2:56 mark. Link is paragliding towards some cliffside ruin statue that I’ve never seen before. Anybody have any idea where that is?
It’s in the Gerudo Highlands. There’s actually a side-quest to find it, from that guy that keeps running around Gerudo Town.
This game is seriously interrupting my sleep patterns. 1 hour turns to 3 extremely easily. On the bright side, I have 3 Divine Beasts and about to go to Gerudo to tackle my last one. Though I really need to learn how to parry Guardian blasts…
I found it’s actually easiest with the walking ones, because as long as you stay still, they go to the same distance from you. The second it flashes blue, press the parry button.
I went on a mission taking them down for parts with my Hylian shield. Unfortunately it also cost me my shield from overuse. Getting a second Hylian Shield was not not the most fun task.
Details of the first DLC are out:

Nothing real too exciting for me. I’m at 100 shrines right now, and by the time I hit 120 I think I’ll be burnt out. My understanding is that you can’t by the DLC individually, just the season pass. I’ll probably wait until the 2nd DLC, which is supposed to have a story expansion.
It would be great if Nintendo instead of creating another Zelda game from the ground up every 5+ years would use the exsisting BOTW infrastructure and release high quality DLC every 1year+.
Using the exsisting world and adding a new story with 10+ new dungeons would be awesome. Or use the exsisitng world and travel back 100 years to how it looked back then and complete a story.
The Hyrule they created is so vast and detailed it seems a waste to just have the rather basic Destroy Ganon campaign be the sole mission in this thing.
I’m hoping the end of the year DLC #2 does this, but at $20 I’m not so sure.
I’d rather they charge me $50 and come up with something great.
I’m fine waiting 3-5 years for the next full Zelda game. Even using the BotW engine (which I’m sure they will), it’s going to take more than a year for a complete game. I’m hoping for a Majora’s Mask-esque sequel. Same Link but visiting a new world.
I don’t have a Wii U or the game, but I will likely get both soon.
How does one setup profiles or whatever so that two separate save files can be made? I am likely going to have one with my kids and one with my wife and me to play on. I’m dense and have never used a Wii U, so I’m clueless.
