Leonard Nimoy has died.

Fuck.

One of only a handful of times I’ve ever truly felt shocked and saddened by a celebrity death.

V

Leonard Nimoy gave me literally thousands of pleasure watching Star Trek, from my childhood to today. I feel like I’ve know Spock my entire life. I’ve never felt the loss of a celebrity like I do now.

Thanks for everything Spock. LLAP indeed.

Oh. :frowning:

I’d never met him. I’d have liked to. Star Trek IV was on frequent rotation, and often quoted, in my home when I was growing up, and as a young adult, I discovered TOS. This has hit me hard.

He will absorbed.

Leonard Nimoy has died, and may he rest in peace, knowing the pleasure and fascination he brought to so many millions over the years (and never being afraid to tweak his public image, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dULOjT9GYdQ). I saw him at a Washington D.C. convention in 1987, and still fondly remember the experience.

But Spock will always live on somewhere in Star Trek lore.

Darmok on the ocean. :frowning:

Mr. Spock was one of my heroes as a kid and In Search Of… made me curious about the world. RIP Leonard Nimoy.

Damn, I can’t believe how sad I am. I met him once when I was a kid - shaking his hand in a Kiddie City store is still one of my favorite childhood memories.

Who put the bomp

In the bomp Sha bomp

Sha bomp?

Just heard that last week with my kids.

Damn, that sucks.

All through college I had a photo of Spock in my wallet. It was IIRC a bubblegum card from Star Trek: The Motion Picture. What a nerd I was back then.

Well, shit.

RIP, Mr. Nimoy. :frowning:

I just read his obit and I was surprised to learn that he directed Three Men and a Baby.

I was never that much into the original series but I really enjoyed his turn in the JJ Abrams Trek especially his scenewith the younger Spock.

When I was little, I had a Mego 8" figure of Scotty. I loved Spock so much I bit poor Scotty’s ears into points and called him Spock. Mr. Nimoy, you touched so many lives. Thank you and Rest in Peace.

May the Force be with you.

He breathed life into one of the most iconic characters television ever gave us.

He will be sorely missed.

This is very sad day for me. Two men who had such a profound effect on my life in very different ways have passed.

Leonard Nimoy who taught me through his character of Mr. Spock that logic and emotion can co-exist and Father Ted Hesburgh who taught me that you can have a lasting impact in the secular world while still living a Catholic life of service.

Heaven is a much richer place today.

THIS!

In addition to Spock, I remember him as Mustafa Mond in the 1998 TV version of Brave New World.

And, of course, the Audi commercial.

Dear Mr Nimoy,

Thank you for inspiring me as a child. Thank you for entertaining me my entire life.

Spock was always my favorite. I am vey sad right now.

Thank you very much, Cal, for your compilation of the non-Spock career elements.

ETA: I’m sure he would have been very much honored by your tribute here.
