We watched the movie COMPLUSION tonite, the story of the two young men that killed a 14 year old boy for the thrill of it. Their lawyer was Clarence Darrow played by Orson Welles. The movie covered the trial and the sentence. What I want to know is what happened to them, did they die in prison, are they still alive, were they ever released before servine their life sentences. I have spent many hours seaching every avenue on the internet and came up emply handed. My last resort is someone who reads my post and knows the answers.
Loeb was killed by a fellow prisoner in 1936. (The killer claimed he was defending himself from a rape attempt by Loeb.)
Leopold was released in 1958 and died of heart failure in in 1971.
Here’s a bit of a rundown on the case, and the people involved:

FYI, I live just a few miles down the road from the Loeb farm, where the boys spent their summers in northern Lower Michigan. Same town, Charlevoix, where John and Patsy Ramsey spent their summers with their little daughter, JonBenet. Hmmmmm …

Didn’t you love the part where one of them cuts his hand and then a few minutes later plays the piano-no bandage, hand healed?
Just go to www.google.com and look up Leopold and Loeb. You’ll get a lot of responses
Or try the Crime Library. I think the address is just crimelibrary.com, but I’m not sure. I know they have a biography of Leopold and Loeb.

Just to add a little factoid to this… the Hitchcock film, ‘Rope’ was also based on the Leopold and Loeb murder case.
