Sick as all heck, I was feverish yesterday and today but I’m a little better now, which is good cuz I need to go to work and tomorrow night I’m taking Velociraptor to the Wiggles with a friend and her two sons.
I think the sheep above my monitor is getting the cold though, he’s slipping off like he sneezed or something…
Hola people!
Long time no been around. Work and life seriously got in the way of MMP time recently.
Getting married in Las Vegas in 4 days!!!
Am back from dentist–he polished and scraped a bit and now it feels much better.
#2 son at soccer practice–unwillingly, I might add, but tough shit. He needs exercise and fresh air and loves the computer games too much. He was told he could pick any sport at all, but if he didn’t, I’d put him in soccer. And here we are.
Yes, I’m a Nazi mom.
I plan on doing yard work all day tomorrow. Yay! It’s supposed to be 72 and sunny. Perfect April weather. Work on Thursday and Friday when rain is expected. I like when Mother Nature is on my schedule.
I have to go through old pics of Daughter tonight for a Youth Group graduating seniors tribute. I can’t wait. Bad TV and wandering down memory lane–my idea of a good time!
sorry for all the Sickies. Get better!
Yay for impending marriage MMMMMMMs. Take lots of pictures.
taxi temps in the fifties ain’t warm. Even in Minnesota. It got into the 60s today which is more tolerable but still not warm. Tomorrow, we creep back to the 70s which is gettin’ warmer. Warm is 80s. I have spoken.
I did meatloaf, smashed N.O.T., peas and carrots and brown and serve rolls (I like ‘em. Don’t judge me!) for supper. Ol’ y’all know who pronounced his tummy happy. Tonight is spend the night night. YAY! We haven’t had many of those as of late.
Ok, off to do some other stuff and well, do spend the night night stuff.
I forgot to add that I had a chocolate chip muffin (homemade) for dinner. I cannot eat anything but soft foods, but cold (and hot) foods still make me cringe. What to do? So, I had a muffin.
Swampy, despite the wind, the 50’s are warm here in MN! It’s shorts weather! I’d say skirt weather, but if I went out there in a skirt, it would be not good!
Recipes will be updated later.
50s is quite warm, thankyouverymuch. I don’t want Mother Nature to think I’m ungrateful, the bitch.
Not sure what I want to do for dinner. Maybe Spam and rice (shut up, it’s good).
:: get-better kisses for Flutterby, blown from a safe distance ::
Same here. 88 degrees at 6 PM Sunday and 39 degrees at 6 AM Monday. A drop of nearly 50 degrees in 12 hours? And fiercely windy!
At least that fancy thermostat Invisible Tenant put in a while back kept things sane inside the house. It automatically flipped from cooling on Sunday night to heating in the morning.
I’m a little grumpy with my doctor’s office. Two weeks ago, when I was sick, I called his office, said I had all the classic signs of bacterial infection in my sinuses and that DH had the same thing recently and that what my doctor calls Gorilla-cillin cleared it up. Gorilla-cillin’s manufacturer seems to prefer the much plainer name Avelox. They called in a prescription for flea-cillin (amoxicillin, actually) and that seemed to take care of the sinuses while the germs moved south and into my lungs.
So, last Wednesday, I pick up the phone and wheeze at them. Didn’t hear back, so I called again on Thursday. Miracle of miracles, they can fit me into his schedule on Monday morning, leaving germs to breed happily over the weekend.
I go yesterday morning, and he listens and pokes and scopes my stethos some more and writes up a prescription for Gorilla-cillin. Gee, isn’t that what we’d asked for two weeks ago? By now, my doctor should know that I’m not one of those people that says “Oh no! A sniffle! I need antibiotics! Give me Cipro! Give me Flagyl! Give me methicillin!” and when I say I’ve got an infection, I well and truly have an infection. I can only assume the message was strained and filtered by the front-office staff.
grumbles My tv just died too.
The new LCD tv, the one I bought around Christmas. Mom tells me it was making a buzzing noise and she could smell smoke (I, obviously, cannot smell anything) then she wandered off (leaving it on) and my son told her it went blank. It’s not working now at all, and my Mom insists on trying new batteries in the remote and asking if perhaps the breaker flipped for the living room (though the lights are on and the dvd player still works). She’s not much of an electronics person if you couldn’t tell.
It got windy here this afternoon. I think I got the same system you got, just a bit later, since I’m east of you. I’m told this is normal for April, but I still think it’s kind of weird.
Nothing else happening. It’s my Firday, so I’m just wanting to get the heck out of the office!
Didjall’ miss me? Nope? Plllbbth
Remember back in January when I heralded in my 30th year on this blessed rock?
Now I’m going to tell you guys something, and You can’t laugh!
Swear it to me now, come on, I know you can.
Today, I mowed grass for the first time in my life.
We bought a riding mower a week back, and with the wonderful 60 degree weather, it was perfect. I felt like I was mowing a hay field, they mowed maybe four times last year, so it’s dry and brown on the top. I think I mowed about 3/4 of an acre today, and I’ll remow again at 3 inches tomorrow. Today was four inches.
There’s a low spot in the back that has a little standing water, and I’m hoping the wind will dry it up tonight, though the grass is still pretty thick.
I also declare that grass is as bad as sand for getting into places it shouldn’t. I took a handful of grass for my cleavage, my ears, and my hair- each. Bleagh.
I’m also an idiot!
I misread my Dr’s appointment for Firday, and I missed the exam! So no definite due date yet. They’re estimating October 14th at the moment. And they don’t support VBAC, so I’ll be going under the knife for another. But I’m going in on the 22nd, for my glucose, some urine thing, where I have to store 24 hours worth of pee in a jug in my fridge, an ultra sound, (One of three!), and the pap. Whoo! Big day!
BUT, they do the 3-D ultra sound at about 28-34 weeks, and I’ll have it on disk. Neat!
Hahahahahahahahaha OW!
I’ve never mowed grass. My idea of how to mow is to pay somebody else to do it! That is, if I had a yard, which I don’t, really. And I’m 32.
I couldn’t mow grass to save my life.
What number are you supposed to call for loud neighbors? It can’t be 911.
The non-emergency police number if you can find it Haze.
I grew up mowing lawn. I guess when you have a monsterous lawn that takes 4 hours to mow, then you get the kids to do it. I loved it though, it was fun using the riding lawn machine! And the weed eater to get the edges.
I should have mentioned I grew up with a huge yard. My folks spent every weekend mowing, weed eating, etc.
My sister got to mow! She mowed my grandparents lawn too!
I just never got the chance. I was pretty much out of the house by the time my folks relaxed enough to let someone else do it.
The next person who comes up here and says “I have a question” is going to get one of the following in reply.
a. “I have an answer.”
b. “Obviously or you wouldn’t be here.”
c. “That question wouldn’t possibly be ‘Am I wearing too much perfume’ would it? Because the answer is yes.”
