Less Than 12 Hours To Go...

…until home ownership ensues.

The closing is at 11:00 Eastern tomorrow morning. Yeah…I’ll be getting some sleep tonight…sure.

All “what the hell is Hal talking about now?” answers can be found here .

Christ, I thought it passed already.

Just know that if it passes, the Giants will be last in the division.
How the two are related, I’ve got no clue.

When’s the housewarming?

Hal, I also have hooked up with a local handyman if you’re interested. Unfortunately, for the moment his car is on the rocks. But he seems to be quite bright and knowledgeable about most facets of home upgrade and maintenance. And judging from his conversation, he has the soul of a really top-notch interior decorator buried under a red-neck country boy exterior.

I hope your closing went smoothly, and that moving will as well. Perhaps you, kitten, and I could get together some time; I’d love to see the new house once you’re settled in.

Is there plenty of grazing land for your Loved One? And I don’t mean your wife.

Well, how’d it go?

So, I’m guessing Hal is out somewhere saying, “OhmygodwhathaveIdone” to himself over and over?

The house, she is ours!

Holy crap…it really is ours…yikes! But woohoo! But yikes!

Now begins two weeks of major packing, followed by a week of painting and a week of unpacking/setting up. And now, I need a nap (I mentioned in the OP about how hard it would be to sleep? Well, turns out I’d have slept just fine…if not for The Littlest Briston pitching a fit every 45 minutes).

Congrats, good luck and now the fun begins.

Jim

Many congratulations to you!

Is there room in the yard for the sheep?

So that would put the housewarming around the 4th of July? Works for me!

WOOHOO congrats Hal. Just think… now when the roof or plumbing leaks… it’s your problem. When the heat or the a/c goes out… it’s your problem. When the walls need painting… it’s your problem. When you want to change something… you can! Welcome to the wonderful world of homeownership.

You’re not entirely off the mark. I was just looking at pictures of the backyard, and how lush the borders are. All the beautiful plants, the mini-roses, how nicely landscaped it all is, and holy crap I have to take care of that now!! As for your mention of painting, I’ll be staying at the new place most of the week of the 19th so I can paint the four (maybe five) rooms that my wife wants made over. Joy!

Thanks much for the offer, Oy!, but I found out the other day that a family friend is a general contractor in Mount Laurel, so we’ve got a hookup close by. And of course, we’d love to have you over once it officially becomes “home”. You’re invited too, Encinitas.

I still can’t believe how fast this process was. It took 32 days to go from “Ooo, look at this house I found online” to “Here’s the keys”. Unfrickingreal. I don’t expect that my mind will settle with reality until the end of the month, when we’re actually living there.
And note how I deftly sidstepped all “sheep” and “grazing” comments.

Mentioned that just to be forthright, eh?
That’s Hal all over—doesn’t want to pull the wool over our eyes.
