If it weren’t for you (meaning everyone here), I’d have started pushing up daisies long ago.
So as this year ends, I wanted to make sure I wanted to say “thank you” and “excuse me, please” to those of you who have had to put up with my shit from time to time.
I’ve tried to “keep it between the ditches”, as the truckers say, but haven’t always succeeded and that is why the Dope and my Dopers mean so much to me.
For ten years I have known that if I feel like I need a friend, then all I have to do is sign on here and there he or she is - all over the world!
Friendship such as we have here is something ------ indescribable, as far as I am concerned.
Georgia Dopers will know about this:
We have a landmark in Marietta known as “The Big Chicken”. We use it to give directions (“about a mile east of the big chicken”, right, http://www.coverville.com/art/atlantabigchicken.jpg (this isn’t spam, and I am NOT affiliated, nor would I want to be!)
and in mentioning it, we say: “For those who know about the Big Chicken, no explanation is necessary. For those who do not, no explanation will suffice.”
That pretty much describes me, dontcha think, as batshit as I am sometimes?
So I’ve been thinking that since I can’t give y’all anything tangible for the season, how about I give you something which means a lot to me?
I think Gilda was my sweetheart way before she became Gene’s;), but I am so happy that those two found each other and shared the love and the time left to them!
So, it would be a favor to me if you’d listen and watch this little clip and stay with it to the end - especially the end - and think of me knowing that I love y’all very much.
