I interpreted your post in question as saying, “I know 10 BJU students. One of them is gay. Therefore, 10% of all BJU students are gay.” If that was a misinterpretation, I’m sorry.
(Not that it’s impossible for that statistic to be correct; only that your “sample” alone is not enough to suggest it.)
Ah, okay, thank you for clarifying. No, that’s not what I meant, sorry. I knew ten students who were not fundamentalist in their thinking, and they all knew even more people with similar beliefs. And I only meant that there is evidence to suggest it’s possible a significant enough minority exists to be worth considering. I didn’t even mean to say I thought this is definitely true, just that it might be. Better evidence than mine certainly exists and would persuade me easily if it refuted my experience as being anomalous.
The noble liberal hath told you Lissener was irrational and if it were so it was a grievous fault and grievously hath Lissener answered it. Here, under leave of Liberal I have come to speak (for liberal is a logical man.) To me Lissener was a rambunctious dude, but liberal says he was irrational, conflating the general with the specific, and liberal is a logical man. Lissener hath fought for the gay rights. Did this in Lissener seem irrational?
When the poor cried… Lissener wept. When thrice put on probation did Lissener deter from his crusade? Was this irrational?
Yet liberal says he was irrational, and liberal is a logical man.
I speak not to disprove what liberal wrote, but here I am to speak of what I do know.
You all did pit him once, each member has.
What cause withholds you from calling him out here. Why should he not be pitted? Do we need a reason?
Oh Judgement thou art fled to brutish beasts! and the pit has lost its reason.
My anger is here within this thread, and I must not pause though I have absolutely nothing to say!
(strictly for fun)
Sligh also talked to the News about being kicked out of the Christian fundamentalist college, Bob Jones University, for attending a contemporary Christian concert featuring the group 4Him…Leaving Bob Jones “was actually good, because I had been trying to figure out how to leave,” he said.
