Let's cheer up! A Rosenmontag MMP

OK, I am pissed off. I bought a quart of half-n-half the other day for making my favorite adult beverage (toasted almond.) Today, I decided I wanted on. I unscrewed the cap on the carton and discovered the inner seal was gone. I asked SIL if he’d opened it, since he uses h-n-h in his coffee, but he had his own downstairs. So I had to dump the entire quart, since there’s no guarantee that some ass didn’t just open the carton and spit in it or something. Fortunately, SIL let me have some of his h-n-h so I’m enjoying my beverage.

But I’m still pissed at the weenie butt who caused me to dump a quart (something over $2) down the drain. Many grrrrs upon that evil critter!

Second dish cloth is all knitted. I think I’m done knitting for the night. Hope I have a good sleep.

And the other half is done! Yay! And it’s not due until Wednesday. I think I’m going to go have dinner and get started on my website.

SQUEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

We’re supposed to get snow tomorrow, a serious winter storm in the evening, and then more snow Monday afternoon/evening! This makes me so happy, I absolutely love snow and haven’t gotten near enough of it for the year… I seriously can’t wait, if we get enough I’m gonna go out and frolick in it - literally just run, skip and jump my way around campus like a raving lunatic! wriggles in anticipation

Oh, and Dad has me under strict orders to steal some trays from the dining hall to use as sleds! Hehe, I hope we get buried in the white stuff, so far the only school closings we’ve had this winter were delayed 10AM openings, which would have been great… if it weren’t for the fact that both times, I had my first day of class AT 10AM. :smack:

On a totally unrelated note, I got my first piercing today, and it feels funny. Not unpleasant, just odd - I’m not used to it.

STG, I envy your done-ness. I have so much homework to do over the next four or five days, but I’m utterly lacking in motivation atm.

Swampy, your dinner sounds DELICIOUS. I had woefully inadequate (in quantity, not quality) frozen lasagna and I was already still hungry, then I came here and read that post and now I am wondering where to get food at 11PM.

**Taters **, I second your opinion on the combination of nuts + chocolate. Acceptable fillings for chocolate include caramel, toffee, nougat, and cream (vanilla buttercream, strawberry cream, etc). The only exception is candy bars, where nuts are acceptable. Mmmm, Baby Ruth.

Mahna Mahna, I may bake some of those muffins tomorrow in between cranking out calculus problems. Pear + Ginger sounds intriguing.

Man, these threads are addictive. I keep coming back to see what’s new, like, every 5 minutes or so. “Y’all” (Did I do it right?) are so interesting I can’t help it!

Off to try to scavenge food, I feel like I’m wasting away.

That’s the way I usually am. Especially since I’ve been watching Hell’s Kitchen on Hulu. I keep expecting it to be 30 minutes instead of 45. The only thing I can say is to sit down and start it. And unplug your internet.

Un… plug…? Isn’t that, like, that thing that makes the internet not work? (Well, that and internet Explorer, but thats a seperate story.) How will I stream music and AIM my friends and read comedy articles on Cracked.com and browse webcomics and, and, and… oh… Oh, I think I understand where you’re coming from…

That said, I’d sooner stop breathing. Especially at this hour, where there ain’t a snowball’s chance in hell of my accomplishing anything anyway.

swampy, I do not need reminders of Georgia pine pollen!!! Gaah, my poor blue car almost turned green every spring. We have some up here, but not as much; there’s a fair number of aspens and whatnot among all the evergreens.

Nuts in brownies are an abomination. Almonds in a chocolate bar are acceptable, though chocolate is always better without.

Good thoughts for Miss Becky, swampy.

The weather here is gorgeous today, but I have to go move stuff from my parents’ place to the studio I’ll be staying in for the next month or so. And I think I’m coming down with a cold. I usually get colds when the weather changes. Blech.

My problem is, everytime I try that, I need to look something up on the internet. Like, actually look something up, for actual homework purposes. And then I get distracted.

Sorry to be confusing, FCM, I was just trying to be circumspect… I’m quite upset about some recent developments which are just exacerbation of earlier similar hissy fits and it’s been reducing my enjoyment of the board quite substantially. If it gets more onerous around here, as I suspect it will, it would be nice to have somewhere else to hang out that doesn’t piss me off so much.

That being said, I already set up an MMP clone over there at the splinter board, just in case… :stuck_out_tongue:

Rosie, this post sums it up pretty well, I think. I never thought I’d ever see a fucking “Bad Words List” on the SDMB and the very idea irritates me so much I feel like breaking stuff just thinking about it. I fully realize that it’s a hot button topic for me–I detest being taken to task about “language” and as an adult I refuse to be patronized in such a slighting manner… So yeah…

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. It’s ick out. Cold and rainy which could turn to a rain/snow mixture later today. Of course, this is my Monday and I’ll be at work when this will allegedly happen. No worries though cause it ain’t like nuttin’s gonna stick all over the roads with that kind of mixture. Just makes for a miserable day is all. Then again “Mondays” are supposed to be miserable.

Today is also brunch Sunday at church. I’m takin’ baked beans and a gallon of tea. Seems like a baked beans kinda day. Plus I get to be Lector. The readin’ kind, not the cannibal kind.

Ok off to forage brekkies and purtify.

Later Y’all!

Holy crap, it’s March… MARCH!! Third month of the year. Already!! No wonder I feel like I’m always trying to catch up - dang.

We are supposed to get some serious snow starting this evening, running all night, and most of the day tomorrow. According to weather.com, we’ll be under Severe Weather Condition from about 9PM till the wee small hours. That being the case, at the very least, we’ll have a late start tomorrow. Maybe even a snow day. I’m serious - our command tends to shut down when the ground gets white.

Meanwhile, we’re supposed to go to Mom’s today - a 2+ hour drive. Here’s what weather.com is saying:
BASED ON THE CURRENT STORM TRACK… 6 TO 10 INCHES OF SNOW CAN BE EXPECTED ALONG THE INTERSTATE 95 CORRIDOR… UPWARDS OF A FOOT WILL BE POSSIBLE ALONG THE CHESAPEAKE BAY NEAR AND SOUTH OF ANNAPOLIS… 4 TO 6 INCHES CAN BE EXPECTED ACROSS THE WESTERN SUBURBS.
hmmmm, we live within 10 miles of the Chesapeake Bay south of Annapolis. And to get to Mom’s, we have to drive thru Annapolis. I’m thinking we’re not going anywhere. Except maybe to make a panicky trip to the store for TP and bread and milk…

So much for turkey dinner. Guess I’ll have to thaw something for us for dinner. Wonder what’s in the depths of the freezer??

Stoopit snow.

I haven’t caught up, so I have not the foggiest I dea of what went on since Wednesday when I posted last.

Made it to Indiana safe and sound, and I’m posting from my sister’s house, where I spent the night. Saw a lot of friends and family I haven’t seen in 2 years, and got shit-faced on 2 Margaritas. Sveltification has left me a very cheap drunk.

The big day for VunderKind is tomorrow. Twenty one; I’s so proud…

I just looked out the window, and was about to decide that the thin layer of white stuff on the cars and lawns was all we were getting this morning, a rather large snowflake floated by the window, then another, and a few more - and they’re BIG! almost dime sized. So apparently it’s just starting here.
In other news, I am bewildered by the reaction of some of my FB friends to this very silly game:

they seemed to ignore everything but the phrase “homeless guy” - so I took it down. But Sheesh!

It was supposed to snow today. Lots and lots and lots. So I rescheduled my sons bday sleepover/trip to the indoor water park.

It barely flaked. Humph.

Tonight, on the other hand… 8-12 inches.

Smartie- I feel the same way you do about the “bad words list” and attitude. I don’t even curse much… but still. sheesh.

I did the Macarena with a surfer under your bed because I’m a Ninja!

I had to go with “other” for shirt color cause the shirt has more than one color. Fun!

It’s cold and ick out and I must go out in it. Le Sigh.

Ok, off for churchification, lunchification and then workification.

Y’all play nice now!

Later Y’all!

I licked a squirrel in my car because Big Bird said to and he’s my leader.

I kicked a noodle under you bed because that’s how I roll.

And don’t you forget it!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Back from breakfast. Called Mom and told her we’re not coming. The forecast for the areas between us and her is just to evil - sleet, up to a foot of snow, rain - no thanks. I hope my sibs all make it, since they live lots closer. She had a 22# turkey in the oven and who knows how many sides - Mom does love to cook!

Our plans involve lots of DVDs and, at least for me, knitting. Another helmet liner, I’m thinking. Meatloaf for supper.

It’s raining at the moment, but it’s supposed to change over in the next few hours. We shall see. Mid-to-north Atlantic coasters, stay safe! Stay home if you can.

Off to start casting on 84 stitches…

I just knocked over two massive potted plants and the dirt and debris is completely covering my kitchen.

I want a new fucking life.

Computer has been cleansed with fire and is now up & running better than ever. Except Complicated hasn’t installed the sound drivers, but that’s a separate issue (all the drivers were lost from the previous upgrade).

I’s cold. Petercat is all fluffed up and giving me the Pitiful Me look.

I sang to my sister at the dinner table because the voices told me to. Oh-kayyy…

Breakfast has been et, and laundry awaits folding/hanging up. The grocery list is made, and coupons are gathered. Soon I will go to the store.

Mr Rebo is almost done with the car. Poor guy - it was about 33° this morning! Brr! At least the sun is shining.

And I don’t care how cold it is, we’re having BBQ babybacks tonight. Mmm, ribs. And cole slaw and baked beans and corn on the cob. We get corn all year round here, do y’all?

Stay safe from the elements, Mumpers! Spring is on the way, I just know it.
