Let's cheer up! A Rosenmontag MMP

Dinner was teh YUM! It’s still snowing, and starting to stick on the driveway and pavement. Dunno about the roads - probably just wet, as our county road guys are great at staying ahead of the white stuff. Still wondering what the morning will bring. But I’m definitely glad we didn’t go to Mom’s. We’d be driving home in this mess.

Just looked at the forecast again - they’re saying 8-12 inches overnight. HOLY CRAP!! We haven’t had that much in total all winter!!

Back to knitting. Thinking warm thoughts. SOOOOOOO glad my car is in the garage.

::crosses arms and covers both breasts:: ow ow ow ow ow ow

You’re a stronger man than I, Moonie. (Figures, since I’m not one. :))

Ribs are grillin’. I got so lucky! I lit the fire to preheat the grill, came back and realized my propane had run out, and the backup bottle was empty, too. So I zipped up to the store and got a refill, and got those puppies on only 15 minutes late. They hafta cook at least three hours.

It turned out to be a very pretty day, if slightly cool. It’s about 60° and the wind has died down. You snowbirds might be jealous now, but in August you can sit back and laugh and laugh at us…

Poor LucyBelle has been limping around the place - she must have hurt herself yesterday. I just found some Rimadyl and gave her one. I hope she feels better soon. And I thought Ernie was over his kennel cough. He started again in earnest (heh! Like how I worked that in there?) so I’m giving him the rest of his prescription that he had leftover from a previous time. You ever heard of a dog getting kennel cough from his vaccination?

Time to turn the ribs. See y’all tomorrow!

Well, I’m doing okay today. Ran errands and got some stuff out of my room. For some reason it smells like smoke over here, but there’s nothing on the news about it. shrug I’m about to head over to the cafeteria for some lunch and then get started on homework.

Well, the Aleve that I took has finally started to kick in (no pun intended). However, I am going to have my dad come pick me up since my car is a 5 speed and I’m not sure if I can press the clutch well enough with just my heel. Other than this, it’s actually been a pretty nice weekend.

TVMan finished my tv and reinstalled it in the console yesterday. It’s totally cool. And, now that the record player is back, the whole thing is working. We had the tv on yesterday and tomorrow I’ll take some old dvds like It’s A Wonderful Life. Hopefully I’ll be able to walk better in the morning. I’ve only got 1 lunch, but I’d like to be able to do it myself so I don’t have to pay GilaMonster to do what I can’t do. Oh well, we’ll see.

Couldn’t happen to a more deserving skinned knee little bitch… :stuck_out_tongue:

Poor Pie, lemme kiss it and make it better, MWAH!

Dang it, I’m hungry but I don’t want to faff about with snacks, perhaps I should just make the calzones now and have done with it…

Ow.

Ow ow ow ow. Moonie, you win. What were trying to extort? Because I give in. No more tales of nipple piercing.

Had dinner, Aerin (who is, according to Attacks Husband, "Dumb as toast) is staring at a wall, Mr. Lissar’s playing the guitar behind me, and Nat’s excited about some empty Krat Dinner (mac’n’cheese) boxes.

Oh, yeah- a friend of ours got back from a month in India and a month in Tanzania yesterday. She spent her time in Africa volunteering at an orphanage for children 5 and under. We’re going to Costco together Tuesday night for me to grocery shop and her to pick up things for her orphans. She’s going to ship some of Nat’s old clothes, and pick up more stuff at Goodwill.

Well, it’s really coming down, now. The kids went out to shovel the drive, and before they got to the end, the area where they started is coated again. Yoiks!

I danced with a spoon in a hole because the voices told me to.

Ok, I was warned and I did it anyway. I’m an addict and I don’t care. You will get these knitting needles when you pry them from my cold dead hands.

My father’s cousin passed a couple months ago and my parents are cleaning out her house. Last trip, they came home with Great-Aunt Ethel’s knitting bag, full of various sizes and types of needles. The thing is about 60 years old, and very awesome, wooden handles and a sort of brocade fabric. She passed 20 years ago or so and it has just been sitting this whole time, and now it’s being used again. I am really digging these vintage needles, aluminum, steel, wood, even some plastic ones. No circulars or dpns though. I’ve only been doing this for about a week, and it just feels something my hands naturally do.

I’ve been reading along and not retaining much, except welcome newbies!

Oh, Moonie the piercings should turn our pretty sexy.

Somebody stop me. I’ve become a shopping fiend. I went to Kohl’s to get a new purse and ended up getting about 6 new tops for the library, new <ahem> undergarment, shoes and camis! But with blouses for a range price of $7-12/ea, who could resist? I ended up putting the purse(s) back because the two I chose weren’t “buy one, get the other one 1/2 off” and I balked at $100 for a purse. I’m cheap like that. IF I had the money, I’d buy a Coach bag (one of the more conservative ones), but I don’t. Maybe I’ll get a new purse next month…
Truth be told, I need all of it. Having never needed professional work clothes, my wardrobe looks like an aging college/grad student’s, and even I am heartily sick of it. It is money well spent (even though the <erm> foundations were not on sale at all, thereby ruining my budget). All told, I spent $320 and got 4 short sleeved shirts, 7 blouses, 2 jackets, 2 bras, 5 camis and one pair of shoes. And I need to lose 10 pounds (so that I can fit into more cute clothes).

Stop me!

I’m stalling. Well, not completely. I made a new background for my website, but then I went and reorganized all my avatars/icons on my computer and my photobucket account and posted some of them over at domebo. So, I’m stalling. Now I feel bad. I’m getting back to work, I swear. See, I’m closing Firefox now.

I loved my neighbor in my car because I think I need some serious help.

I made it home, details to follow in the new MMP. I miss my poor, kenneled puppy.

Moonie, ouch!

I think we’ve been pretty lenient about insults towards staff members in the numerous ATMB threads, but this isn’t one of those threads and insults are not allowed outside the Pit. Do not do this again.

King George schools are closed tomorrow, so daughter is doing a happy dance. And if the schools are closed, I expect my command will be closed, too. So far, we’re opening 2 hours late, but we’re supposed to call in before 8 and see if it changes.

I sure could use another day off…

I wound up going to my brother’s yesterday to give him a surprise mini-birthday party. I wasn’t going to go and had told him so, but then read an e-mail from my ex-SIL where she said the niece and nephew were expecting me, so I figured he’d be extra-surprised if I showed up. Worked out really well. I even had time to buy a few decorations. So, I went from my meeting at the park yesterday to my brother’s and didn’t get back till 5:30 tonight, just in time to make it to church.

I speed-read my way through everyone’s posts and am sure I’m missing something. Hugs if I missed you. And even if I didn’t. :D:p

So sorry. Work isn’t incredibly bad this week, but I notice that a lot more people have taken to buying lottery tickets. My two closest work friends and I decided to do this a few weeks ago.

Those burgers sound yum, FCM. I had the Alpine Swiss Burger at Ruby Tuesday for lunch (I am a fan of any burger that includes 'shrooms and cheese). It was teh yum.

Muffins sound yum, too, Muppet. Sorry about the job stuff. Sounds prudent to look for something else, though.

I yelled at my neighbour in an elevator because Big Bird said to and he’s my leader. Just FYI.

I HATE it when that happens. Mine are not usually massive, but it’s annoying, regardless of plant size.

Owiiieeeee, Pie! Hope you feel better really soon.

Hey, Flower, welcome to the club. Isn’t it weird how knitting can feel like just the right motion? The knitting bag sounds pretty. That said, I managed to leave my knitting at my brother’s. My niece was helping me out with the shawl I’m working on (it’s a sampler, so it was something safe for her to practice on) and I was working on a bag for my needles and I left everything by the couch. Good thing the little brother is coming to town tomorrow.

Speaking of which, I really need to clean up around here. Guess I’ll get moving for an hour or so.

And then another hour in the morning. He won’t be here till late tomorrow night, but still…it seems I let chaos take over.

See everyone in the next MMP!

GT

Is this the first MMP mod warning?

The new MMP is up!

Not to hijack an always-hijackable thread, but I kinda wondered the same thing when I was writing the post. Clearly, the MMP is no longer a virgin.

You were very gentle…

Oh My!

Blue-Sighted Shadow Nice score on the yarn. I can’t knit to save my life, but admire people that can.** Karyn** my Grandma used to make (knit? crochet?) doilie type stuff like that. I was always amazed by it.

**
eleanorigby** I liked your poem it was nice!

whiterabbit I’m an old skier, so I hear ya on the snow. My most favorite place in the world is Lake Louise.

Karyn yourPost 300 is just my feelings too, especially the bottom half.

Delores Reborn :smack: Well hell! Someone else turned 50 last week, didn’t they?

anyrose I loved your mom in line at the bank because I’m NOT crazy.

Alastair Moonsong My boobies hurt!

I had a disturbing phone call on Saturday afternoon. Willow’s old owner’s father called me and asked for Willow back. At first I thought is was one of my brothers screwing with me, but nope, it wasn’t. She’s apparently on the edge of a nervous breakdown, has been crying, not sleeping, etc, since Willow left. I feel really bad, but she sold the horse because she’s seriously ill and not going to get any better. Plus Willow just rode in a trailer for 2 days across the mountains, through a snowstorm. Fuck off, she’s my horse. I didn’t say that, but I sure wanted to. I talked to him for about 1/2 an hour and made those 2 points to him. He’s going to talk to his daughter some more, hopefully she will calm down.

That phone call really upset me though, my Mom bought me Willow for my birthday because for one thing, I never ask for anything, but she could see how excited I was at the thought of getting Willow. I have worked my ass off her on the farm, and Mom loves the fact she not only gets to live on her beloved farm again, but that we actually have animals!

I’m glad she lives so far away, I hope she doesn’t try anything stupid like coming here and trying to take Willow. I’m pretty sure Alberta still allows shooting horse thieves. I don’t think we can hang them anymore though.

Psst… FarmerGal (what’s your nickname?):D) New MMP has already begun over here.
