You know who made that four years ago?

Oh well, Gardentraveler, she’s talking to him (and his sister) again. I’m so frustrated I just want to pull my hair out. Was up late last night talking to her, not knowing she was breaking up with him at that moment, and then couldn’t sleep for worrying. By the end of this evening they’ll be back together again. I told my husband that he’ll have to pull something out of his magic dad bag of tricks if she calls tonight; I"m too short-tempered to talk because I would say the wrong thing.
It would be nice if we could just throw our hands up and walk away, wouldn’t it?
My plan was to give up pop and smoking for Lent. I’m chickening out of both at the same time, as I have a wicked Pepsi addiction. So just the smoking goes, and in it’s place i have knitting. I figure if the point of Lent is to sacrifice something we love, smoking is the one that will hurt the worst and it’s the one that needs to go the most.
I will cheer up, I promise. I just listened to Straight No Chaser’s Twelve Days of Christmas because I wanted to hear the part from Africa again, and it made me laugh despite my lack of sleep and general blah mood.
Who has good ‘no meat’ recipes for Fridays? I’m new at this Catholicism thing.
I know we’re supposed to stay out of the House of Grrrr, but well, I seem to have a permanent room in there, I think.
I am really hating work now, and that’s all I’ll say about it.
My postal carrier is pissing me off royally. I haven’t checked my mail in a week, so he left a slip saying the “box was full” so I have to pick my mail up at the post office. Umm, that means taking off early, so I can do it. I think it’s just fucking laziness. Yes, I should check my mail every day, but dammit, this is just stupid.
Ugh, sorry, nothing is going right today.
Big hugs to the rebos. I know it was expected, but I’m sure it’s still very difficult.
I’m going to come back when I’m in a better mood.
Hugs to the rebo’s.
I’m not admitting to being in The House of Grrr, or even in The House of Please Help Me Through This, Lord, so my Looking On The Bright Side comment will be that it’s 38°F and the sun is shining.
That is all.
{{{Rebo and family}}}
I am not grr, I am stressed.
:(And I miss TVMan because I didn’t get to go see him this weekend due to all the stress-causing happenings around here.
Hopefully I will get to see him soon.
((((ReboFamily))))
Pancakes tomorrow!
We just watched Once More, With Feeling, for the first time, and now I feel all melancholy.
OQD has a baby, she’s just a) at the easy, flexible stage, and b) is angelic anyway. She may develop into Hell Child later, but she’s incredibly undemanding and sweet and smiley now. It’s eerie. I really should lend them Nat for a couple of weeks. It would Build Character.
Suse are you a New Catholic too? Mr. Lissar and I became Catholic at Easter Vigil 2007. I’ve got some Lent recipe stuff bookmarked- I’ll PM it to you.
I worked. I went to the Booster Club meeting. I got nominated for recording secretary. A bunch of us are going to Atlanta Saturday for a Canes game. We’re tailgating with the Nasty Nest(The unofficial Thrasher booster club), with $5 all you can drink kegs. how’s that for anti-Grr.

Spaz tubes are generally round.
Suse, you could always make bachelor food
Karyn(you need a nickname) and bugnapper, even I can’t keep up. Just remember hugs and gropes are always appropriate.
I was a good girl and made us a low fat dinner from the Weight Watchers cookbook. I made braised chicken thighs cut into about two inch pieces and seasoned with thyme, sea salt, and fresh cracked pepper. Once the chicken was pretty much browned, I tossed in thinly sliced red onion and a quarter cup of water. Once the onions had gone transluscent, I added two cloves of minced garlic, diced roma tomatoes, a cup of low fat, low sodium chicken broth and a quarter cup of white wine.
I let all of that simmer for about 10 minutes, and then I added a package of cooked egg noodles (Yolk Free), about a third cup of low fat half and half, a little grated parmesan, and few handfuls of baby spinach leaves. I tossed all that around until the spinach was wilted and then I served it.
It was tasty, actually. I’ve made it before, but it’s been a long time.
Now, I’m going to relax for a bit before heading off to bed.
It’s raining.
In February.
WTF???
No, but it hasn’t stopped me in the past.
King cake is kind of like a cakey cinnamon roll. We used to eat them in French class every Mardi Gras.
Don’t encourage him. You can flash for me though!
I’ve managed to re-code two pages of my website so the code is cleaner. I’m still annoyed with Internet Explorer, but it’s better now. And I can actually work on it in class now (the Macs don’t have IE installed.)
Tired. Shoulda gone to bed two and half hours ago.
Oh, and I no longer have a working key to my dorm :smack: And I couldn’t do laundry tonight (since the same key works that door too) so it looks like I won’t be going to taijitsu tomorrow (cuz I don’t want to dig the pants, shirt, and socks out from the hamper). Oh well, I can put more hours in at work. Hopefully the housing office will call me during class tomorrow and say they have a key for me.
Seriously, bed now.

Just for you, LiLi!
**Lemon Cous Cous Cake **
4oz (113g) cous cous
2 eggs
Grated rind and juice of 1 lemon
1 level tablespoon lemon curd
½ tspn baking powder
1 pot of lemon and lime muller lite
4 tblspns sweetener
* Cover the cous cous with boiling water and leave for 10 minutes.
* Beat the eggs until pale and fluffy.
* Add all the ingredients into a microwaveable bowl and mix thoroughly.
* Microwave on high for 10 minutes
* Leave to cool and set.
Just for variety, I used two WeightWatchers yogurts instead - one was lemon and the other was lemon and lime. The Muller Lite pots are 200g and the WW ones are 120g each so I used almost a full pot of each WW variety. I’ve also experimented with this recipe by adding some ground ginger to the mixture and also substituting half the lemon curd with golden syrup. All good stuff!
Last night I made chicken boobies in red wine sauce which was Teh Yum. Still haven’t had The Talk with 'im indoors, so that will have to happen this week sometime.
Tonight we have a taster night at Fat Club so I will be making some chicken and herb balls <snerk> with a tomato and herb dipping sauce. The mixture for the chickie balls is already made and will be marinading in the fridge all day, they will take 20mins to cook so while they’re in the oven I’ll be making some sauce to go with them and then whizzing off to Fat Club before my balls get cold. Ooo errr, missus!
Hello, I’m a bit late. Belated thanks for the hair compliments from the last MMP.
:: hugs for Rebo and husband ::
I was feeling a bit blah today but I went shopping and was comforted. I was supposed to go over to Irishman’s place in the afternoon but I called him and his ex had just contacted him on Skype and was being very emotional and he told me I’d better not come over today because he was still dealing with her and felt like he wouldn’t be very good company for the remainder of the day. I appreciated him being honest with me but it still didn’t make me very happy.
Oh well. I have plenty of work to do this week so I might as well get some of it done today - I never get anything done when I’m over at his place anyway.
{{{Rebo & husband}}} – It’s better than losing someone un-expectedly. But it still hurts
You don’t think I hadn’t looked the first time…? Just poking a bit of fun atcha…
Well, think… What would *Jesus *have thought about this? Based on his location, of course…
Well, then, I’m not throwing any beads at you.
Rocks, maybe. If you want, rocks with holes in them!!
How’s **Mork **going to make his birthday cakes, now? :smack:
Morning all! Up and caffeinating - good coffee today too, thanks to my daughter.
We’re having pancakes for supper tonight - it’s officially Mardi Gras today. Hey, was that Heffalump that re-appeared above?! Good to see ya again! And good to hear from you too, SpecialOne!
Hugs and good thoughts to all who need/want them. Happy Mardi Gras, all.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. It’s my hump day! It’s also Shrove Tuesday so get out there and shrive yourselves, which is not anywhere near as dirty as it sounds.
Tonight it will be pancakes and burly butcher bacon (which I shall not fry nekkid so quit thinkin’ about it already ya pervs!) in honor of the day. Plus it’s cool weather and pancakes and burly butcher bacon make a find cold weather supper. Plus also, it’s easy to do.
Muddy I am not opposed to bein’ flashed by others of the male persuasion. Just sayin’ in case you run out of people to flash.
Happy Tuesday Everybody!
Later Y’all!
Good morning! Seems like moods are subtly shifting in here. That’s a good thing!
Thank you all for the good thoughts. It’s very much appreciated by me and Mr Rebo.
I had the weirdest dream last night. Something about wrecking the car!
Have a good day, everyone!
To the Rebos, I’m so sorry and you’ll be in my thoughts.
LisslaLissar, time-wise I’m not new, but observance-wise I am. Long story. I would love to see what recipes you have though!
Up and off to work!
