I know you are in direct contact with GingerOfTheNorth way more often than I am. Do you know for a fact there’s going to be a Dope The Halls this year? I mean, I know that since WeirdDave got banninated, she doesn’t exactly hang out here anymore. 
Dope The Halls was never a Doper-only event anyway. There were also people there who were Dave’s relatives, Ginger’s occasional visiting relatives, posters to some Canadian-emigrants-to-the-Baltimore-area message board, Dave and Ginger’s neighbors, and some random people who appeared to have just wandered in. I would presume that they intend to keep the event going this year. Would someone who feels comfortable E-mailing Ginger please do so and ask her about whether Dope the Halls will continue (although maybe we should call it something else now)?

I reserved the pavilion, so Gettysdope VI is now officially Sat. October 10, from 10 am until dusk. We’re at the Kiwanis pavilion this year, which is on the south side of the park. For those who were at Gettysdope I, this is the pavilion where Mudgirl earned her name. I will be posting directions when we get a little closer to that weekend.
We’re still a few weeks out, but I’ll go ahead and start the “who’s bringing what” list.
Mrs. Geek and the three geeklings will be there (1 geekling might not make it but we’ll count him for now). We will be bringing hamburgers and hot dogs. We ended up doubling up on the kosher dogs last year, so I won’t be bringing any this year.
A reminder: The park does not allow alcoholic beverages. They don’t go around sniffing every container, but you’ll get in trouble if you do something obvious.
The pavilion does have electricity, for those who want to bring hot plates, crock pots, etc.
The kids and I should be able to make that date!
Typo Knig is iffy. One of the scouts in his troop is having an Eagle Board of Review that weekend, time / date / location TBD. If it’s that day, he can’t come.
I’ll plan on bringing the same baked beans I brought last year. They contain pork if that’s an issue for anyone.
If anyone can’t have pork, and someone can bring a spare crock-pot (I have only one), I can bring an “unleaded” (vegetarian) variety of the same. Or, if enough people would prefer the veg version, I can bring that instead.
Probably also a snack of some sort - I make a pretty good cheese ball.
Oh - and we’ll be driving a car that seats 5. If anyone from the DC metro area wants to hitch a ride, give me a shout. If Typo can’t make it (see above), we can give 2 people rides.
I should think they’d be pretty well past their expiration date by now. . .
Well, you know how stuff like soup, stew and chili is often better the second day… surely baked beans are even BETTER after the 365th day 
Ginger is kinda iffy on DtH, at least when I heard back from her.
Airman and I are not going to attend, for a couple of reasons. First, it’s a lot less special without danceswithcats. We planned this together for the first five years, and since his death, my heart’s just not in it. Second, something Airman did made it to The Board That Shall Not Be Named. I know we’re both frequent targets there, but considering that Airman’s actions were a) legal and b) affected, let alone hurt no one, I’m disappointed that someone we probably considered a friend felt it was acceptable to engage in anonymous cowardice. And yes, over a year later, we’re still pissed about it.

Not this year. For pretty much the same reasons MsRobyn posted. I don’t really feel much like getting festive with someone who feels fine smiling to my face and then turning around and making fun of me anonymously. And, unfortunately, since I can’t know who it was…
ETA: I’m not accusing you or norine or anyone specific, because I don’t have the evidence. But SOMEBODY there last year did a full report to the nonny board.

This is the first I’ve heard of that. I’m sorry that happened to you. Mrs. Geek and I were looking forward to seeing you and Supervenusfreak this year. I was wondering why you hadn’t responded.
I hope you change your mind. There are so few people coming this year that chances are whoever caused the trouble last year won’t be there.
Yeah. I don’t even know what you and MsRobyn are referring to (or what board - Domebo or Giraffe board? nah, I don’t think either of those even existed back then…) but I certainly don’t have any recollection of anyone even doing anything “reportable” anyhow (guess we left too early and missed the “fun”).
