ya know what? you’re right. It’s not worth the trouble. I believe that she routinely verbally attacks other posters, she doesn’t believe it, she believes I’ve intentionally mischaracterized her statements, I believe she does.

I acknowledge that you made a retraction, but excuse me if I don’t acknowledge it as an apology. Your remarks struck me more in the vein of this famous apology:

I think this problem is more of an SDMB mob mentality problem, and you’re just as much a victim of it as I am. Maybe more. I’d go into this more deeply, but it is a subject that the Mods said they never wish to hear about ever again, so I won’t. Let’s just leave it at that. And let’s move on. Read my writings, realize that I’m probably writing tongue-in-cheek more times than not, and if you are entertained or informed, great, if not, it isn’t like I ruined your life or anything. Save your wrath for things that matter, like fighting ignorance. That’s all I’m trying to do, in my own (perhaps a bit twisted) way.

You’re waiting for the bus under an awning on a rainy day with your kids. Sharing the awning with you and the kids is a junkie. The junkie pulls out a needle and prepares to mainline some heroin. He’s not interfering with your rights, only offending your sensibilities (you don’t want your kids exposed to that). It would be inappropriate for you not to tell him to do that somewhere else?

To wring and the others, take it all with a teeny, tiny grain of salt. We are talking here about a woman who once found information that I had posted at another message board entirely, then brought that information back here to use as a weapon against me. The upshot of what I had posted there – that I am on antidepressants – is now fairly common knowledge here; but my thoughts on my life and my mental state were not for SDMB consumption, which is why I didn’t post them here. Stoid, however, felt perfectly justified in reading what I wrote there, bringing it back here, and throwing it in my face. That is the kind of person we’re talking about.
