As to the question of who’s up tomorrow…well…the first one to post? MamaTigs is up on Oct. 1, but no one has actually claimed tomorrow (or any Monday after Oct. 1, for that matter). So, I say, whoever deems it to be Monday and time to start a new one starts it. Unless someone else does. See? It’s simple.
I’ve been to church, brunch, shopping (bought about 6 pairs of slacks at Kohl’s; I’m still deciding whether I’m keeping them all), post office (the 24-hour one), the Mexican grocery for tortillas, World Market for exotic candy and cookies, and used my $.80/gallon off at the Giant Eagle gas station.
Now I want a nap.
We used to have one S&G album. Can’t remember which one. I think my brother had custody of it, though, and probably lost it in the great flood of…94? 95? 96? Something like that.
We had labels at church today because it was the first Sunday that students were back. Blue people were old, red people were new. I think tardy labels would be funny.

HiHo! Home from the fest. Cite Left to right:Hockey Monkey, dogbutler, LurkMeister Diomedes, romansperson, Mr. romansperson. Also there:SarahH’s daughter, SarahH(from Fathom), LurkMeister. We discussed grammar(it is The Dope), hockey, Mafia, LPs, and had good beer.
I am so tickled. Now #2 son, after having said multiple time that he will DIE, yes, DIE if he rides a bike, can’t get enough of it. He is still leery of the street and we have no sidewalks, so the Husband took him to this HUGE park we have near us. He is quite happily riding on the grass there and on the bike path. I rode my bike over and went around the whole park with him.
Now I go back to grad school work. <sigh>
Lovely weekend. I appreciate them so much now–after having to work every other weekend for the past 6 years, the thought of two mini-holidays in every week thrills me.

Hey, I have all the amenities of civilization here, or I can order them. Rich people come up here to vacate. Really rich people. This is not a normal small town. One of these days I will get pictures up online to show you all. I have to do it by the time I get to Seattle next Thursday, so I even have a deadline.
I was a good girl today. I did laundry, even did my sheets, and while I love having a freshly made bed I hate the process of making it! And I cleaned my room, though it was more rearranging than cleaning. Still, all is well, except that I have to go to work early tomorrow morning to open up.
Poo. My access to my grad school site/server is denied. apparently there has been a hack of the vandalish kind.
But I need to do my homework, dammit!
Off to watch the War, then.
We already have a room…this room!
Productive day today:
- House cleaned
- Laundry done/dried/folded/put away
- Bed sheets etc changed and bed made up
- New jeans purchased plus some other assorted tops and things
- Toiletries gathered up for packing
- All clothes for packing are folded on the spare bed ready to go in the case tomorrow. If I do it now I will rip it all out tomorrow and re-do it anyway
- Hand luggage bag is almost packed - spare clothes, visa stuff, passport , magazines etc
- Kitty is sleeping on the couch. I am going to miss the little critter
- Rusty’s Pizza is delivering supper momentarily
My Dad is starting to get nervous about the surgery now…me to

Hello everyone.
I’ve returned from my trip down to Portland/Beaverton and Banks, OR. I met my soon to be BIL’s parents and the BIL of my soon to be BIL. They all seem like nice folks.
We left my Dad’s place in Tacoma, WA around 8:45, stopped a couple of times at rest stops for potty breaks and smoke breaks, and were at my sister’s place in Beaverton by around 11:30. We chatted with my sis, her friend, and her fiance, and then drove out to Banks, OR to unload the sofa I hauled down there. We chatted with the fiance’s parents and BIL, had a cool refreshing iced green tea, then headed back to Beaverton. Upon arriving in Beaverton, we discovered my Dad had left his jacket and cell phone in Banks, but he didn’t want to drive clear the hell back out there, so he’s leaving it until Thursday, when he’ll be in town for my sister’s wedding rehearsal dinner.
After leaving my sister’s place, we drove to Woodland, WA and stopped to eat a little something. We left there, then drove on for another 20 or 30 miles and stopped for some gas. One more stop at a rest stop for a potty break after that, then on to Tacoma, where I dropped my Dad off.
I came home to Puyallup, and plan on doing nothing but vegging.
