If Trump was handed over to the highest bidder, where would he end up?
‘I will not pay for things I already own.’ ~ Vladimir
Sorry, highest bidder only.
The U.S. offered $2.276 million with benefits, so that’s the starting point.

Given that sovereign states generally avoid interfering with the leadership of other sovereign states, the only real bidders would be US based and therefore one of the Tech Bros.
A parallel question might be, were 45/47 to flee seeking asylum; where would be his preferred sanctuary?

Nah, that isn’t the question, and you can assume that if he is offered to the highest bidder, he is no longer in power.
I assume we could at least start with the offer from John Oliver for Clarence Thomas to step down.
So $2 million US luxury motor coach (or other equivalent assets), plus $1 million a year for the rest of his life. This is going to be a low offer, but should get us started.
Nope. This is a bid from an outside force to take possession of Trump, not a bid to buy a get out of jail free card.
.
What outside force would possibly want him?
~Max
Then a question, when does the buyer take delivery of Trump? Because he has an expiration (snerk) date, though he’s waaaaay past the “best by” date.
If you’re buying him and get to use him for the rest of his term as 47 as a useful tool, it’s one price and set of buyers. If you buy him, but in the process he loses the position/influence, that’s something entirely different. And of course, if you get him after he’s kicked the bucket, there’s the profit making option of doing a brisk business in celebratory urinal cakes and pissing rights and/or sacred relics depending on the POV.
No. He is not President, and he is not in power. The person or country that is the highest bidder gets him in whatever condition he is in (after maybe a couple of months in the hospital for observation) then he is flown cheaply to wherever the bidder resides. His body, not his power, and not his Presidency.
Just.
Him.
Trump has pardoned so many rich people this year that it seems like there are ongoing transactional deficits. I do get the feeling though that he owes Musk in an ongoing way. Maybe he could become Musk’s bath slave for some new favors.
“Why buy the cow when you get the milk for free?”
Let that image sink in.
Nope. Straight cash transaction-You hand over the cash, we hand over Trump.
Well, clearly, people with real money see zero value in Trump once his influence is gone, so they aren’t likely to bother, unless as a propaganda/disrupter, which could still be worth a good bit.
I’d bid $10,000, because I’m sure I could make a good return on that selling relics and a classy urinal, which I’d use frequently. So that’s a solid offer. SDMB members may visit my facility for free and join the priority que by giving the secret handshake (pre-visit)!
That may not be the only reason to get custody of him. Retribution, revenge, whatever.
There’s one of those ‘rage rooms’ not far away. I see they’re charging $40 for a session. I don’t really see him being much fun to utilize for that purpose after only a couple sessions. So, I’d go as high as $80…..you know what, he’d represent a significantly higher quality of satisfaction versus taking a sledgehammer to some old washing machine….I’m doubling my bid: $160!
Less than you think, though I’d certainly wouldn’t rule it out. Most of the people that would “stoop”* to that level have benefited from the stupidity, though Elon’s ego might make him an outlier. Why spend significant money on him when he was a useful idiot whose time has passed, again, except as a disrupter or propaganda tool.
Though the families of those who he has ordered illegal strikes out could certainly club up and outbid me. But I think for the most part, none of the big spenders (Elon excepted) would care.
(*) - I mean, after all, I can think of a number of European, Ukrainian and other allied nation’s population that would have the will to do so, but they (gasp!) might still be held accountable for anything they do to Trump by their own, more stable rule of law. It’s really the autocrats who have carte blanche to do whatever they want within their own nations.
Iran would love to get their hands on him.
Not sure if they would be highest bidder or not though.
