Let's make a Sixth tape - A list MMP

Glad you don’t have the plague Sunny!

I’ve still got half the money my mother left me, but I’ll prolly spend it the next time I go to Dairy Queen.

I think we need a Wookie emoji. Just 'cause.

I’ve been lactose intolerant for many years now, but in the last few months I’ve developed a new problem with milk, even the ‘lactose-reduced’ stuff. My mouth and throat swell up. Not every time, but often enough that I’m getting paranoid. The other day we walked downtown and noticed the ice cream shop was open (they’re only open for tourist season) and I forgot and joined the family in an ice cream orgy. (I carry lactase pills for the other problem). I didn’t orgy very much, I just had one scoop, but it was a good’en. (Chocolate covered pretzels). My tongue swelled up a little bit in spots. Still, I likes some ice cream.

I’m thinking I might mow the back yard today. It’s only supposed to get to 79F today. It got to 91F yesterday.

That’s all the gnus that’s fit to print.

Taxes are done.
I have 3 more days to go over them.

Going to head out to the dog park soon, come home and irk, then go to bed.

Fun fact: prednisone drops irritate my eyes and make them red. However, they still calm the inflammation, so it’s a win. I’m told some people are allergic to the preservative. The work-around is drops that are compounded. There’s no compounding pharmacy around here, but in case you ever have to use steroid drops and find them irritating, now you know.

Sunday is my day off from working out. It’s also the day the kids call. I shall water my plants and spend some time on my shady balcony listening to birdsong and children playing in a nearby park.

MetalMouse, butter pecan was my father’s favorite ice cream. (New York cherry was a close second.) I always think of him when I see it. And a triple scoop! Yum! Sugar cone?

Sari, I hope someone at the dog park adopts the green-eyed puppy so you get to see him often. He sounds adorable. I’d so like to buy a house, but like doggio, I have no money. I’m not a first-time homebuyer, as I owned three (sequentially) with my ex. Also, houses go for way above the asking price here and are insanely expensive. I walk by a small vacant lot every day. The house that was crammed in there burned down. The lot alone is $200k.

swampy, you often refer to this squish casserole. What variety of squish? What other ingredients? I like squish, but I could use some new recipes.

I watered all the plants in my greenhouse, then soaked all the pots on the back deck. Yesterday, I watered the planters out front. This lack of rain is causing me work!!! :stuck_out_tongue:
Supper tonight will be burgers and whatever sides I choose - maybe a salad and tots? We shall see.

I haven’t had an MRI in a lot of years, so it hasn’t come up, but the pulse generators in my chest played havoc with an EKG I needed a couple of months ago (I went in later for an echocardiogram).

So, what kind of electronics have you got in YORE haid?

In my chest, actually. A little life changing thing called Inspire that manages apnea internally with no CPAP. The deal with the devil is I can no longer have an MRI of my torso. Head and limbs are permitted with specific instructions for the MRI tech to prevent damage to the Inspire device or to me.

I FINALLY GOT IN!

How y’all been? I missed you.

red!!!
: tacklehug :
Well I just poured lava and boiling acid onbathed Gordie.(Fleas are so bad, he was crawling with them even with the flea collar. :grimacing:

gotti, how major a surgery is it? I don’t have sleep apnea, but I have family members who do, one of whom can’t stand the CPAP and won’t use it.

RED!! :Jumps on top of doogio’s tacklehug: Welcome back and hope you can stay awhile.

nellie, it was an extra large waffle cone, quite good. Chocolate is my usual ice cream go-to, but butter pecan (with real pecans) is just soooo good…

Well, ate in this morning and the rain stopped about noon, so I just came in from mowing the lawn. Need to clean up and purchase some sustenance, Longhorn is open until 10pm so I’ll probably try them, since I need to clean up a bit.

All y’all take care and I’ll catch you on the next MMP.

Howdy Y’all! We had a most enjoyable Sunday. We deheathenated, et a big N.O.L., and then had some quality cee-mint pond time. Then, just cause, we went to DQ and got nanner splits. Et em there even. No one else was in the place at the time so we had the whole of the dinin’ area to ourselves. NICE! I have hauled the biiiiiiiiiiiiiiig trash can all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. We have a SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY in effect until ten p.m. TWPTB say that means we could have a big ol’ tstorm. Or not.

nellie I use yellow (Summer) squish. I saute the squishes with some onion (sweet), green bell pepper, and pimentos. I make a cheese sauce and pour it over that in a casserole dish and add some bread crumbs and an aig. Mix it all well, toss some bread crumbs and shredded sharp cheddar cheese on top of that. Bake at 350 Amurrkin for about twenty minutes. Always nummy! If you prefer you can use crushed Ritz crackers instead of bread crumbs, but I like bread crumbs better.

red YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY you made it back!

doggio, Nelson got a bath today too, but not because of fleas. It’s rained several times in the last three days and he got a little muddy at the dog park yesterday.

Thanks for the hugs!

It’s good to be back. I’m on vacation this week. Other than doctor’s appointments (a PCP and retinopathist for me, a retinopathist for my friend and a dental appointment for Nelson), it will be a staycation. That’s OK, I have a task list and going out on the bike a couple of afternoons is on it.

Well, The Parental Units came by for one last visit. Again mostly peaceful. :face_with_raised_eyebrow: So weird!

The final tally for their help:

Dad fixed my lava lamp (the light bulb glass had unscrewed from its base, leaving that stuck behind inside the socket) and helped me install a curved shower rod so I have a bit more elbow room. He, uh, also paid for the rod. Plus he made an interesting wireframe wall art thingie of hooks for me, which was the perfect place to hang all my bracelets nicely.

Mom had knit me a purse (yes, really) and bought me a pair of new shorts & these special stainless steel wipes after I made some not-so-subtle hints. My fridge really does look nicer! She also got me a sunflower plant for my front steps and a nice, big pot I can transplant them into … plus a whole bunch of random fruit and muffins from their hotel’s breakfast bar, 'cuz that’s just how she rolls.

I also wound up telling her that my former I.T. Guy and I are still in touch & that he had come up to visit me already. Also that he’s lost a shitload of weight & earns a shitload of money. Now - yup, you guessed it - she’s broadly hinting that we should get back together, and asking when he’ll visit me again.

I don’t think she knows the phrase “friends with benefits” but I suspect that she suspects that’s what’s going on.

It’s about a three hour procedure to implant the thing. Then after 4-6 weeks of healing, the device is activated and you set about slowly nudging up the level until you find what’s best for you.

The sensation of dreaming was quite weird at first. When your brain has been oxygen starved for so long, you don’t know what’s missing.

Three hours? That sounds pretty major. :frowning:

So people who are oxygen-deprived don’t dream? Fasinating!
