Let's make some fandom Clue(do) editions!

Over in the NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 3) thread, there’s a bit of a hijack related to Clue(do). I figure, “What the hey? Let’s see what the Teeming Millions can come up with for various themed editions of the classic detective game!”

If you wish to contribute, please mention all of the following:

  1. Let’s number our fan creations since, given the creative nature of the TM, no doubt some will make more than one contribution. Numbering them makes it easier to make comments on a previous poster’s creation.

  2. Theme (such as on what show you grabbed the particular elements from)
~If the theme is too broad (such as Star Trek), be sure to include a more detailed description (such as Star Trek: Lower Decks).

  3. Victim (Mister Boddy has not always been Clue(do)'s victim, so feel free here.)

  4. Suspects (This should be a minimum of 7, but I think 10 tops out on playability, IMHO.)

  5. Weapons (I don’t think there’s a rule requiring the same number of weapons as suspects, but again, let’s go with the Goldilocks Rules: make it “just right”. )

  6. Locations (Let’s stick with 9 rooms, halls, and other passages (such as elevators on a starship or the original game’s secret passages)

Since I’m the first one I guess I’m number 1.

Theme is Beavis and Butt-Head.

Victim is Principal McVicker

Suspects:
Beavis
Butt-Head
Daria
Stewart
Buzzcut
Van Driessen
Todd

Baseball Bat
Chainsaw
Spray Paint

Locations:
Living Room
Van Driessen’s Classroom
Open Field
GWAR Concert
Maxi-Mart
Gym
Mr. Anderson’s Shed
Stewart’s Kitchen
Burger World
No secret passages, and lets face it these two would get lost in them anyway.

#2: Breaking Bad edition:

Victim: Marie Schrader (because you know you wanted to, amirite?)

Walter White
Skyler White
Jesse Pinkman
Hank Schrader
Saul Goodman
Gustavo Fring

#3 Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country edition (since it’s a murder mystery already)

Pavel Chekov
Uhura
Valeris
General Chang
Azetbur (Gorkon’s daughter)
Admiral Cartwright
Colonel West

#4 The Andy Griffith Show

Victim: Sherriff Andy

Floyd
Helen
That suspicious stranger who keeps showing up and looks just like a young Jack Nicholson
Otis
Ernest T. Bass
Briscoe Darling

Weapon:
Shotgun
Rifle
Revolver
Shiv made from a bedspring
Straight razor
Poisoned food
Goat stuffed with dynamite
Still explosion

Location:

In a cell in the Sheriff’s office
On his front porch
In his kitchen

Mount Pilot

Re: #1 & #2: I can’t really say anything about those because I haven’t watched the shows on which they’re based.

Re: #3 Using the transporter room as a means to go to any other room on the Enterprise is genius!

Re: #4 I’d go with Aunt Bee as the victim. I couldn’t stand the character or the actress who portrayed her. :smiling_imp: But your locations really do require Cousin Andy to be the corpus delecti.

So far, all great editions!

#5 Hill Street Blues

Victim: Chief of Police Fletcher Daniels

Suspects:
Cpt. Frank Furillo
Sgt. Phil Esterhaus
Joyce Davenport
Lt. Henry Goldblume
Det. “Mick” Belker
Off. Andrew Renko
Jesus Martinez

Weapons:
Police-issue handgun
Rope
Fay’s voice
Belker’s typewriter
Sex with Grace Gardner
Not being careful out there

Locations:
Furillo’s office
Squad room
Holding cell
Back seat of a squad car
The Kubiak

@Robot_Arm You need four more locations. I love the choice of weapons: Fay’s voice & Not being careful out there!

Hill Street Blues didn’t really have a lot of recurring locations to choose from, but let’s add:

Roll-call room (not the same as the squad room)
Courtroom
Street corner
Furillo’s bed (where most of the episodes ended)

But Andy always ended up solving all the crimes. Plus, when it’s your turn to deal, you can make Aunt Bee the murderer!

Gilligan’s Island

Victim: Gilligan

Suspects:
Skipper
Thurston Howell
Mrs Howell
Professor
Mary Anne
Ginger Grant
Rotating Guest Star

Weapons
Skipper’s Hat
Gold-Laden Suitcase
Pointed Parasol
Pocket-sized nuclear explosive made out of two coconuts and a palm frond
Poisoned coconut cream pie
Sexual wiles
Gun

Locations
Skipper’s hut
Howell’s hut
Girl’s hut
Professor’s hut
Lagoon
Spider Cave
Beach
Wrecked Minnow
2nd Hole of Howell Golf Course

I was going to do a Phantom Menace -based game and have Jar Jar Binks as the victim, but then realised the list of suspects would be impracticably large, so I’ve scrapped that idea.

#7: Law & Order (Original Series)

Victim: Dr. Olivet

Suspects:
Det. Logan
Sgt. Greevey
Executive ADA Stone
ADA Robinette
DA Schiff
Det. Briscoe
Lt. Van Buren
Legal Aid Atty. Green

Weapons:
Gun
Knife
Fists
Baseball bat
Narcotic in IV drip
Fall from rooftop
Caprice Classic
Death by CHUNG-chung

Locations:
Local downscale tavern
Local upscale tavern
Emergency room
Empty parking garage
Central Park
Italian restaurant
Crowded subway
Grade school basketball court
Catholic confessional

Greevey, Stone, and Robinette were all original cast members, but I don’t think they’re the most iconic characters from the show’s run. I would replace them with Det. Green, EADA McCoy, and ADA Kincaid. Replace Shambala Green with Dr. Rodgers. And one of the weapons has to be a javelin.

Re: #3, the Star Trek VI one:

A kar’takin wouldn’t be seen in Star Trek until the Jem’Hadar used it on Deep Space Nine. The nearest kar’takin is 50,000 light years away in the 23rd century.

How about a qutluch instead? The ceremonial blade of a Klingon assassin?

#8: The Big Bang Theory

Victim: Kurt, Penny’s ex-boyfriend

Suspects:
Leonard Hofstadter
Penny
Sheldon Cooper
Amy Farrah Fowler
Howard Wolowitz
Bernadette Rostenkowski
Rajesh Koothrappali

Poisoned wine

Experimental drug
Chopsticks
Laser beam

Locations:
Leonard and Sheldon’s living room
Penny’s apartment
Apartment building lobby
Howard’s bedroom
University cafeteria
Leonard’s lab
Amy’s lab
Comic book store
Cheesecake Factory

We’d need secret passages between some of these locations, but I think it would work.

Clue Special Edition #9: Alice’s Restaurant Massacree

People who buy this game will probably only play it once a year on Thanksgiving.

Victim: Alice. This is a game about Alice.

Suspects:

  • Ray
  • Fasha the dog
  • Officer Obie
  • Judge
  • Psychiatrist
  • Sargent
  • Meanest father-raper of them all

Weapons:

  • Shovel
  • Rake
  • Implement of destruction
  • Belt
  • Toilet seat
  • Injection
  • Neglection

Locations:

  • Restaurant
  • Church bell-tower
  • Dump
  • Off the side of the side road
  • Police officer station
  • Jail
  • Courtroom
  • Room 604
  • Group W bench

Play can begin once the solution envelope is put under a pile of garbage.

I’d totally buy that. My sister and I would play it every Thanksgiving.

Needs to include Ernest T.'s favorite weapon: a rock.
