I know that Cisco lives in Phoenix. His white Honda Accord got smashed up or something got stolen off of it, or something. It was pretty much not-driveable. He took a picture of himself squatting near it and giving the thumbs up, and I think he was wearing a white t-shirt (maybe a polo shirt), khaki shorts, and Adidas slides. He has spiky brown hair and a mustache-goatee thingy. I remember all of that–I haven’t seen the picture since it was initially posted. I’m not a stalker, though, I swear.
I am 19 (20 in two weeks). I study at the University of Illinois. Right now my major is undecided, but I’ve been studying French and psychology. I’m thinking of changing psych to linguistics. I play the violin, although not well. I used to be named FireUnderpantsBoobs, and was a bit of a celebrity in the “What’s your favorite username” threads. Heh. I was a day camp counselor over the summer, a job I simultaneously loved and hated.
I know that AwSnappity has an uncanny talent to pick awesome usernames.
Good to learn a bit more about him [?]
I’m old enough to know better, young enough to still have ideals.
I’m the owner of a small art-gallery, a [voluntary] counsellor for immigrants in my spare time. I’m a fighter for the underdog, a fighter for peace. [other than that, not quite so boring ]
I have a big mouth, am not afraid of anything human. [very afraid of spiders, though]
I’m tallish, with a thin almost male figure - Broad shoulders, not much boobs * or* butt. [those are firm, though] Long reddish-blonde [strawberry blonde?] hair, grey eyes.
I play pool, guitar and with words. Read anything. From Shakespeare to the ingrediënts on a package of soup.
I have two cats and a [male] partner. I prefer women over men, except in my bed.
Oh, I’m a woman.
As am I, to answer your question. That’s okay, I didn’t know you were a woman either!
Note to the next poster: do gum instead of me.
I don’t know much about gum before this thread but I know that I liked her posts (and she’s a she!) and I am interested to know that she runs an art gallery. And she likes cats! That’s a good thing!
I was born and raised in Southern California but moved to the midwest several years ago because of family obligations. I am extremely homesick (especially for Yosemite National Park, my favorite place on Earth), but I will confess that the laid-back, slower-paced life in this midwestern town is kind of nice. But if it was possible at this time, I’d go back to Calif. in a heartbeat. Hell—I’d even live in Bakersfield.
I am an “artsy craftsy” kind of person who loves to try all sorts of creative things—that’s something that I feel is a huge part of my identity. I’d call myself a portrait artist firstly, but I also do pottery, photography, sewing, digital art, and am always interested in learning something new. It’s a family trait; we all like to do artsy craftsy things and it has always been encouraged in our family.
I am a cat person—we have coughcough too many cats in our household. I currently live with two other family members (we all moved in together a few years ago to save on expenses). I’m a science fiction fan and movie fan and I love film music and Classical music.
Okay, that’s enough about me!
I’m pretty sure yosemite used to be yosemitebabe. Why the change? I think she underwent gender reassignment  Of course, I’m only joking, I have no idea why the name changed.
Me. I’m a 40 year old Information Technologist (unemployed) living in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia with a wife and two girsl, 4 and 12.
I enjoy playing around with my website, seeing what things I can do with it without making it godawful to look at and use.
I also recently started geocaching (http://www.geocaching.com or http://www.geocaching.com.au) where I am known as caughtatwork.
My job was outsourced to India, so I’m still on the scrap heap after 15 months which is starting to get depressing. I’m also one of the ‘hidden unemployed’ as I have more then $5K in the bank, no unemployment benefits for me or the family.
Oh, I hate John Howard, but voted for his party because I wanetd my seat to go marginal ( ), but no chance of that happening where I live. :smack:
That’s about it for now.
Well, I don’t know much about Caught@Work, other than I’d love to someday go to Australia.
As far as I am concerned…
I’m 32, and currently a Firefighter/Arson Investigator and a Police Information Technology Specialist. I’ve been a police officer and firefighter for the DoD, (where I was detailed to Dignitary Protection) and a business owner, among many other things. I’m a semi-regular at the Uptown Poetry Slam. I’ve been I’ve been married to Mrs. Jockey for 7 years, we live on the South Side of Chicago with our 2 favorite canines, no kiddies or plans, and enjoy a lot of traveling, especially to the Caribbean, St. Maarten specifically.
This is the first time I’ve had the pleasure of reading a post by buttonjockey308 who sounds like a cool guy. Hope to read some more from you,
I’m 18 and a student studying Forensic Science at Lincoln University at the moment. That’s in England in case you didn’t know which is where I have lived my entire life, starting in Enfield which is in North London, then moving up to Norfolk about 100 miles away, and now in Lincoln which is about another 100 miles away in the same direction. I did live with my mother, stepfather and brother (who’s adopted BTW) and my little dog Candi who is almost 15, I think. Very old for a little dog but stubborn as a mule.
I’m a guy in case you didn’t know that either. I’m pretty quiet outside of the boards, keep myself to myself (mostly). I write short stories and poetry as a hobby. Never had anything of a meaningful job, although I hope to be volunteering my services to the local Special Constabulary real soon. I have very few people I’ll call friends and for that reason I’m insanely loyal and devoted to them, kinda like a puppy (but in a good way). I don’t know why, I guess I just enjoy being able to help them in any way possible.
I know I’ve read stuff from nocturnal_tick before, but I can’t remember much. However, we do share a bit in common, it would seem …
I’m a loooooong-time lurker, rare poster, addict of the Pit and GD. I’m 26 and studying Forensic Investigation at a university in Canberra, Australia, although I was born in Missouri in the States. I’ve engineered a new method of developing fingerprints off of thermal paper (ATM receipts and the like) using just a hair dryer, and my research will be published soon. Forensic science has been my life the past two years!
Outside of school I have a long-term relationship, I cook a lot (especially cheesecake), I write very religious-based fantasy stories although I am an atheist myself, and I play and develop modules for Neverwinter Nights. Also, I am incapable of living without Yahoo’s “Spelldown” game. I’m female and I want nothing more in life than to analyse infrared spectra all day and come home to my snuggly boyfriend and an adorable black toy terrier puppy named “Sakai” (after the Iron Chef). Sadly, the job and the puppy are as yet unrealised dreams…
What I know about Caiata:

Here is some about me.
I am a 27 year old stay at home mom. I have three wonderful kids of my own and two step daughters. Sometimes they drive me nuts, but I love them all. We live in a rural location in Iowa. I collect Disney movies. I enjoy watching NASCAR, Kasey Kahne is the driver I watch! I like to read mystery novels, and I volunteer to read to groups young children at our local library. I love Santa! I have several Santa figurines, wall hangings and dolls. I look forward to the day after Thanksgiving so I can put them all out! I have three cats, a brother and a sister. I like spending time with them in that order, too!
I’m 28 years old and work for a not-for-profit. This is not a career, but a job. I am starting school in December to become a teacher.
I devour books constantly - sometimes one a day if I am in the mood. I own a Gamecube, a PS2, and a computer and play games on all three. I play D&D, medivel, futuristic, Twilight 2000 (3000?) mechwarrior roleplaying, and paranormal.
In fact, I like RPGs whenever and however. I like to hike in the Adirondacks. Next spring I intend to splurge and buy a nice bike. I can speak a couple of languages fluently, and often have a fairly Eastern mindset. Depending on the day I think in HIndi or English.
I love long, soppy Hindi movies but also love to watch American movies. Americans still make the best. A proper English accent - a gentleman’s accent - can make me swoon. I go to see movies at least 12 times a year in the theatre, usually 3-4 in July and 3-4 in December, and the rest spaced out.
I’m extremely adaptable and very happy-go-lucky. I have a boyfriend of 8 years but no kids and my only pet is a red-eared slider (turtle). I am going to get a gecko in the next 3-4 months, I think.
I’m atheist but am fascinated by the study of religions. I would love to talk to you about your religion and your views on it. Trying to convert me will guarantee I will never be your close friend, though.
What I know about misstee:
Well I see her a lot around. She seems to me to be very fun-loving and playful. She flirts a lot, so I like to think she is laid-back and relaxed. Didn’t know she was a mom, though. She seems very sweet and nice, and seems like she would help you out if you were in a jam.
Elenia28-
She runs through threads naked but then doesn’t provide pictures when asked Aside from that, I don’t remember much of your posts. Sorry. (Hey, interested in talking to me about my non-religion? I’m more than happy to talk about it)
Me, I’m 19, female, and I’m a second year journalism student at University of King’s College. I also love video and comptuer games. A lot. Often to the piont of ingoring my studies :smack: (Guess what I’m not doing right now…). I only have a PS1 and an N64, but they work and that’s good enough for me. Plus the games are cheaper.
I also get sidetracked real easy, if you didn’t notice.
I love reading and writing. Also singing, though I rarely get a good chance to aside from the shower and the radio. My favorite author is Anne McCaffrey, and I’m always on the hunt for books she’s written that I haven’t read yet. I’m also a big anime fan, and am working on a collection. I’m from South/Southwest Shore Nova Scotia, and am currently living with two male roommates. We get along, but I’m started to get annoyed at the toilet seat always being up.
Sidetracked again. Sorry.
Anyways, I’m quite shy, and I have a hard time opening a conversation. However, once the conversation has started, my Acadian blood takes over and good luck getting me to stop talking. Hence the reason I haven’t ended this post yet. But I will now.
waits to see what the next person has to say
What I know about Jayn_Newell: Well, not a whole lot 'til just now. We’re both journalists, I see!
Now me: I majored in English Lit and have worked at a newspaper for six years. I have a minor in French but don’t speak a lick. What I do best is make an ass of myself. I have a really big mouth, precisely foot-sized. My friends tell me I’m hilarious, though I’m not sure whether they mean that as a compliment or not. I turned 27 on Sept. 23. I’ve been married for four years, and last weekend my husband and I celebrated the 10th anniversary of “us.” I grew up in Southwest Minnesota and live in Southwest Minnesota. My husband moved here from Florida when he was 16. We have two cats, a dog, and two aquariums full of fish. And a crapload of dust bunnies. We love movies, and I read constantly. I’m currently addicted to the Sims 2. I like beer, too, a whole lot. And cigarettes. I’ve been to several U.S. states (even Iowa, don’t be jealous now!), Canada, Russia, Germany, Switzerland, Lichtenstein, France, Italy, Austria, and England.
That’s it. I’m not very interesting.
What I know about YellowVal: Everyone calls her “Val” except for her husband Timothy, who calls her Valerie. She liked the movie “Monster” but wouldn’t want to see it again.
(BTW, if you happen to click on the poster’s name, you can get a list of all the other threads they’ve posted in, and can find out reams of stuff about them!)
About me, in no particular order: I’m 35, live on the upper east side of Manhattan, and work as a copy-editor for a major financial magazine. I live alone. I am currently (well, pretty much all the time) single. I’ve been sober almost two years (sobriety date is at the end of Novemeber - keep your fingers crossed!). I was an English lit major in college. I’m an amateur writer & artist (lotsa watercolor & pastel painting), and an avid reader. I grew up in Buffalo, NY - the fifth of eight children (need I add we’re an Irish-Catholic family?). Black hair, brown eyes, clean-shaven, work out but am nowhere near buff. I’m a cinefile/vidiot, and love, love, love the movies. (My dream is to write a screenplay that actually gets produced as a halfway decent movie. Actually came close to getting a screenplay produced once!) I was a considered (to my utter surprise!) somewhat of a rebellious ‘activist’ in college when I helped create the first pro-gay & lesbian student organization at the Catholic university I attended. I listen to 1960s era jazz & rock (but not the usual ‘classic rock’ stuff - Zeppelin, Beatles, Doors. I much prefer the weirder stuff - Airplane, Zappa, Sun Ra, Nina Simone, etc.) Ummm…I think that’s enough about me (and probably more than you wanted to know!)
Art Vandelay, Architect’s user name is a Seinfeld reference.
I am a psychologist and educator who could be affected by Mt St Helen’s. I type this from work, where I’m putting together a presentation for a conference later this week. It is raining. My students all have colds.
Unfortunately I don’t know anything about Shoshana but she appears to hail from the Pacific Northwest.
I’m an 18 year old pre-vet major currently attending Allen County Community College in southeast Kansas. I commute 20 miles to school every day because I am too poor to afford to live up there on my own. I’ve lived in the same small town my whole life. I’m one of those outgoing, always happy people that makes friends very easily. I love animals (obviously). I have worked at a skanky Mexican restaurant for two years where I sit around and answer the phone all day. I also work at a cattle auction in a neighboring town on Tuesdays where I help the vet that I work for herd cows and do blood tests and give vaccines and all kinds of cool stuff. Been single and loving it for about 2 months now. I’m an atheist but I like to learn about other religions and hear other people’s points of view. I hate smoking. I love to travel but haven’t been a lot of places. I’ve never been to Australia but I am obsessed with it. I hope to live there some day. I’m really social and love to do things with large groups of people. I have one very best friend that I do everything with. I love funny movies and I’m a rabid country music fan. I’m very laid back (sone would say lazy) but its just because I value my free time. One of my favorite things to do is grab a good book and sit out back in my hammock all day. I hate cold weather. I wish it was sunny and hot every day. I’m all about tropical stuff. I wish I could be a beach bum and I have a weird palm tree fetish. I want a 1972 Chevy Nova more than anything else in the world.
That about sums up myself.
Shoshana lives in Oregon, is married, and knows how to make a simple, forceful statement without blowing it up into some huge long-winded production.
I’m 33, male, single, living in San Francisco and working for a company that makes videogames. I’m originally from Georgia but have been living in the bay area for about 9 years now. I’ve lost most of my accent, but not enough to get comments about it on occasion. I was a computer science major in college, after trying to be a Film & Television, Journalism, and Graphic Arts major at various times. Two years ago I started traveling and am already hooked, having been to Tokyo, Kyoto, London, Paris, and various places in Ireland. I’ve decided not to travel again until I’m seeing someone who will go with me, because I realized I don’t like travelling alone. I’m a huge fan of Disney parks, and have been to Walt Disney World every year since I was born. I quit smoking today.
SolGrundy is going to be very irritable for the next few weeks!
I am 49, married, and live in a smallish town on the edge of the desert. I teach at the local high school: AP European History, American Government, Economics, etc. I also coach the school Speech & Debate team. I have an enormous collection of Hawaiian shirts. I am a homebrewer, and I also collect guns. Politically, I am a liberal on social matters, a conservative on economic ones, and a homicidal psychopath on foreign affairs. See here for an example of the shirt collection.
I know that silenus is recently married to a woman he adores that is at least 14 years younger than he is, but can’t remember the difference exactly.
I am a 32 year old woman. I work as an industrial engineer for a medical device company. I have a 4.5 year old son who is my pride and joy. Between the job and the kid, I don’t really have too many other hobbies, other enjoying music, collecting useless facts, and taking care of my bulldogs.
The only things I know about thinks2much are what she just posted, but I’d like to know what kind of medical devices.
I’m a 40 year old male living in Chicago. I was married briefly and divorced quickly. I’ve been dating a beautiful painter for about 6 years now and we’ve travelled together a few times. I’m a fan of, among other things: The Beatles, Monty Python, Terry Pratchett, DC Comics, Star Trek (but no longer a rabid trekkie), the films of Aardman Animation, Eva Cassidy and the modernist photographers.
I grew up in a small town in Iowa (Albia, current population approx. 3500), my father was county sheriff, my grandfather was mayor and I lived in the jail for 9 years.
Everyone always thinks that is a euphemism for something… and the truth is almost as bad - breast pumps.
PS - next poster, carry on with photopat - ignore this post.
