I propose the following game: go to the user profile of the most recent post in this thread and click on “find all threads started by X”. Based solely on the thread titles, and without peeking in any of these threads, and without clicking on “find all posts by X”, tell us your overall impression about what kind of person X is, and any other relevant qualities. No cheating! Use thread titles only! Amusing insinuations are fine, but no direct insults or general meanness…
Note: only do an analysis of the last person to themselves post an analysis. Don’t pick a post’s user if it’s merely a response to an analysis. Do feel free to comment on other’s analyses of others and yourself! At the top of your post please put either “ANALYSIS: user X” (include link if possible) or “COMMENTARY” on the first line to make this easier…
Since I’m the first poster I’ll pick someone semi-randomly…
He is a tech support operator living in Iowa with his pet dog. He has a penchant for wine and chocolate. A Fan of the band Genesis. Has issues dealing with banks/creditors and other financial institutions. Is about to or recently bought a new car. Like videogames. Went to Texas on vacation a few years ago. Occasionally has issues with his employer and work conditions. Occasionally tries out a new diet.
jackdavinci is interested in photography, and likes sci-fi/fantasy/superheroes. Also curious about both science (albeit from kind of a quirky direction) and languages.
twickster is a single, female movie aficionado who lives in Philadelphia (I didn’t check the location). In addition to movies, she likes reality TV and has been known to read mysteries and sci-fi/fantasy.
She has cats…and bongos (how the cats feel about the bongos is not evident from thread titles).
She creates, or has created, puzzles–specifically crossword puzzles. I have the impression that she works in writing or editing, so the puzzle creation may be for use in a newspaper or magazine.
She lives in a house, rather than an apartment, and has some interest in gardening.
(I may be difficult, since I almost never start threads.)
Nevermind. I didn’t read the OP. Shame on you, FilmGeek.
Balance is preparing for the coming apocalypse which will have been started by her (him? I’m going with her). She received a mysterious package, is making armor, learning about forensics and is going to destroy us all.
FilmGeek is interested in a broad range of subjects, and has a generally inquisitive nature. She cares about her family, friends, and coworkers, but doesn’t obsess over them. She is somewhat of a homebody, enjoying RPGs, knitting, and her cat. She is interested in music and pop culture, but doesn’t seem to follow politics to any great extent. Overall, FilmGeek is a happy, healthy, and well-adjusted person.
Well, except for her weird obsession with oddly flavored soda. That’s just nutty.
Green Bean watches a lot of TV and movies, and reads and listens to music. Other than that, she (IIRC) posts about the sort of random things that all the rest of us do.
ultrafilter doesn’t enjoy Garfield for a laugh as much as watching the effects of a spider with a crack habit, hmm. He enjoys punk, science, and has an interesting numbers business going on.
SSG Schwartz likes to read and critique Science Fiction while coaching a NASCAR driver as he chooses the 5 best guy flicks. He persistantly watches sappy family sitcoms and shaves his head while listening to music created by dope fiends. He has high hopes this will garner him a Section Eight so that he may fulfill his life long dream of becoming a serial killer.
Diogenes the Cynic is a fervent Obama supporter, with a healthy interest in popular culture (leaning towards SF, I believe), and is concerned both by the growing influence of fundamentalists, and the dangers of random five year olds. Obviously, a sane, and forward thinking, person. anyrose is a female Long Islander, with a fascination for Buffy, South Park, and Family Guy. She has problems with physical pains, especially joint pains, that lead her towards developing a disputatious nature, which she excises by staging mock battles or, as she calls them, ‘Feuds.’ Given the known nature of her experiments with electricity and body modification, it is this observer’s concern that anyrose may be trying to created prosthetic limbs with concealed weapons so that she may be able to better defend herself from the enemies she sees everywhere.
(I’m a male Girl Genius fan who detests the host on the Discovery show Bone Detectives, and who wrote a piece of epistolary fiction about a mysterious package here on the boards. I do dabble in making armor, though.)
The first thing you need to know about OtakuLoki is he’s got an ear hair problem.
He cares about his father, doesn’t suffer fools well and isn’t afraid to complain about stupid people. He has an interest in science, perhaps astronomy in particular, and likes to spend his spare time on trivia games, while not watching monster movies. He’s concerned about his diet and healthful eating.
I hope I’m on the right person. The responses make it a bit confusing.
Enjoys cats, television, and cooking. Lay interest in astronomy. Feeling the onset of age. Gregarious, has a Mac, and enjoys a little teasing. May garden casually.
Liberal takes part in left leaning politics, has a fascination with numbers, Enjoys the show Dexter, owns fish, watches Food Network, is unhappy with the default forum font, dislikes Phelps, and is very vocal about current events.
CoBA has a pronounced if strangely oriented sense of loyalty, likes playing the tuba at Christmas, has a travelling uncle (possibly called Matt, I don’t know) and isn’t a great fan of Hughes Net.
