Of course it’s up to you guys as to whether this is a democracy – You could also choose a leader to call the shots, or you could just say that the guy with the biggest weapons gets to decide.
Keep in mind that Antinor is out until tomorrow, I believe.
Ok, so my question is…is this party a democracy? Should we just put it to a simple vote? Glee makes some very good points about the benefits of traveling with the caravan, but ultimately my feeling is that they are heading away from where we want to go. My vote is for heading towards Getha. If we can travel with the Caravan part of the way so much the better, but I think they are heading away from there.
(Sorry, if my tone is a tad combative, I am playing mafia in another thread and it tends to get me a bit amped up. It isn’t intentional.)

I side with you 99%. I want to head where the caravan went, not where they’re going. And besides, I don’t like being around that MANY outsiders. You four, you’re good in my books, you helped the town, and even killed a few of those bastard creatures in the attack. Still, I much prefer we head to Getha.

I’m not interested in following the orders of ‘the guy with the biggest weapons’.
I am happy to change my mind following a polite discussion.
Looking back over the decision, I note that we have enough food to reach Nanion Bridge, but no coins to pay the toll.
Does Koldanar know what happens if ou can’t pay the toll?

Good question.
One does not need coins to pay a toll. A chicken, goat, or sword may pay it handsomely and then some. Just don’t expect change.
One can avoid a toll by going around it. The way around, of course, is usually inconvenient and/or dangerous. Alternate roads are paved with the bones of cheapskates, scouted by brigands, and hunted by nasties.
On occasion, these alternate routes are peaceful wooded wonderlands.
I understand. That was my Tuesday. Coming back from vacation sucks ass.
You watch the caravan pass. In all, you estimate that around 80 people and 250 mules were in it. You move on.
The trail continues to climb. At one point, the river is a good 1000 feet below you. You see the remains of a stone bridge that once crossed the chasm. Looking across, you can see the other end of it that you passed on the other side a few days ago.
Eventually the trail goes back downhill. The river bends away, and the terrain evens out so that there are no more steep cliffs. You are still in mountainous country, though. As night falls, you come upon what must have been a large encampment a day or two ago. There is quite a bit of mule poo.
And now I am off for a few days. Getting married on Saturday, I will be back Tuesday. Assume I pray every chance I get and that I also always try to heal folks up.
Anyone who wants to can play my character in my absense. Go nuts with it, just try to remember that my #1 priority is getting home ASAP.

Presumably their site has some good points (e.g. water / shelter), so (avoiding the mule poo) we could rest here.
Same watches as usual?
Congrats, NAF! I’m sure you’ll be doing plenty of praying.
Same watch order.
The night passes without incident. You awaken to an awesome day. Warm weather, bordering on hot. No wind. Not a cloud in the sky. Your food supplies are getting thin, but you should have plenty for an excellent breakfast and enough to get you through the day and then some.
Every now and then you hear the drumming of hollow logs in the far distance. There are fowlspawn about.

Can we try to combine travelling warily towards Getha with some hunting?
Also if we talk amongst ourselves, perhaps some more memories will come back.
[/QUOTE]
For hunting, do you mean spending time examining tracks and lying in wait, or would you just settle for hoping that game crosses your trail? The latter can be done at full marching speed, but your odds are significantly lower.
My own experience with big game hunting is limited to cruising the meat aisle at Stop & Shop, so forgive my ignorance here. But I’m wondering how the recent passage of several hundred men and beasts might affect the local wildlife population. Wouldn’t most game animals get scared off? (I’m thinking of the recent thread about the kid that killed the bear woman, in which is was opined that hiking trails make poor hunting trails.)

It depends…
Deer and stuff, yeah, until the smell of the humans/mules wears off.
But if the caravan left a lot of trash (discarded food) around, then some scavangers would flock to the area. (Including bear, racoon, etc.)
