In fact, you would have known how to deal with that type of injury. Yes, you know some very basic surgical skills. But as it looks battle-related, you probably could not have done that good of a job with it in the field. You’re just not that good.
Does my character get any recollection of ‘Paladin’, ‘Dorithor’ or anything else about the Church service?
Does thinking about it make me feel happy or dutiful?
“I’m going to look around a bit guys, maybe I can find more food or something. Even better maybe there’s a way out of here. Since we have no idea where we are, maybe we should see if there’s anything servicable as a weapon.”
::Begins to explore the area, focusing on the direction the wind is coming from.::
“Alright guys, I searched this area and didn’t find anything else useful so let’s head toward that passageway.”
::gathers up the supplies and distributes them equally among the four adventurers, gathers up material to make a torch from the fire and heads off toward the passageway::
You crawl. You walk a bit stooped over. You stand a bit upright.
After a bit of an awkward walk, with your bare feet cut up, cold, and sore, you feel a bitter cold breeze on your face, hands, and feet. You see light ahead.
You wanted to get out of here. You asked her for divine help. You – literally – see a light at the end of the tunnel.
What more iron-clad proof do you need that prayer works?
(That was meant to be only half snarky. Praying or asking for divine help is a valid move. Whether or not you get it is often a matter of interpretation. Gods work in mysterious ways, after all.)
Back to the plot:
It’s really difficult walking through the cave in bare feet. And you guys are really underdressed. It is quite chilly.
Before long you feel fresh air on your faces. You are outdoors. Looking up, you see a few faint stars. A dull purple light is to your right. You are surrounded by tall alpine trees. the ground slopes sharply down to your left, and up slightly to your right. Behind you, the cave is set into a hill. The ground is cold and wet. It feels like there is a little snow on the ground. The wind whips at you.
