Let's play a role-playing game

Interesting question, but remember that this is religion, not magic. I don’t think that Larani would tear the soul from a living man just for giggles.

But you do remember that you need a Morgathian priest, specifically, which (naturally, I think you’ll allow), has us wondering how you know that.

I don’t even know what a Morgathian priest is, except I’m terrified of it. But you, who are as far as we know from roughly the same background as myself, right, suddenly know you need one. I don’t think it’s a good idea to take you to one unless we know who told you it was a good idea, and why.

We seem to be at an impasse, at any rate. The longer we hang around without finding anything out, the more attractive a, uh, preemptive approach seems.

Shall we put it to a vote?

If you say so, tdn. Your opinion is the only one that matters. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Jimmy, I want to try to ask the goddess one more time for guidance.

“Goddess, should we destroy the thing that looks like and may in fact be Rugger?”

Something tells me it won’t be that easy, but it’s worth a shot.

I agree, I wonder if the wording of my last question might have been too convoluted to get a straight answer.

I am having a hard time with the idea of killing Rugger if he is in fact something we can save. If he is unsaveable I have faith that the goddess will let us know.

Larani answers your prayer this time.

Abominations must be destroyed, but look into his heart to see if his intentions are truly evil.

Nothing like a definite maybe.

You know goddess, you and I, I thought we had an understanding. I love and worship you, devote my life to you, get others to praise your name…and you help out in times of need. Yet everytime I come to you for support I get burned. :frowning:

I love you goddess, but you don’t make it easy.

I don’t suppose I have a “look into his heart ritual” do I?

Yeah well…

I could say to kill him, but then I’d be telling you to kill a PC and knock him out of the game. I could say don’t kill him, but that could put you all in all sorts of funky situations that might bite you in the ass later. As a GM, I have an ethical problem doing either. It puts me in an odd position.

There is some definite evil going on here. The question is if he will act in evil ways. He may (or may not) still be an asset to the group.

Fair enough. I have a problem killing Rugger. It seems to go against what my character would stand for. Of course I am willing to hear cases from Glee, Jimmy and Koldanar to the contrary.

It’s an interesting ethical dilemma, don’t you think?

It’s like a kind and well-loved grandparent getting alzheimer’s and turning into a mean, abusive snot. Do you still love him or her?

Ha. It’s good, I agree. (a bit bastardy, but then, I can get behind some bastardy in a GM :p) Thankfully my character has the wisdom of the goddess to help him out.

True, but I have it on good authority that the goddess can be every bit the bastard that I am. :stuck_out_tongue:

Nah, NAF, I’m not comfortable trying to persuade you. My reading of the tea leaves thus far is that for better or for worse, we can’t just kill him. We don’t have the capacity at moment to “look into his heart,” so we ought to be working on finding some way to do so, is my opinion. It seems clear he’s got the BukrAIDS, but you’re right, we can’t just off him and then find out later whether there’s a cure.

Therefore - a proposal:

We move out, quickly, in the direction of the nearest town that we’re aware of, Santo in tow. If he won’t agree to be bound, we won’t force him, since it isn’t clear we’re even capable of doing so. He can keep his weapon – again, it isn’t clear to me that he needs one to hurt us anyway, so we take our chances, and anyway, he said he wants to chip in if we get attacked. He’s not to touch any of us, and he’s not to leave the party. If he does anything freaky, we’re all going to agree to strike first to protect ourselves and others. If he doesn’t, well, so far so good. We’ll have to be extra-vigilant, of course, but are we men or are we zombie freaks?

PS - How close are we to a respectable town that might have some kind of authority we could ask about this?

The closest is back to Getha, a little over a day away. You were originally head towards Gardiren, about 3 days away.

Gardiren is home to an earl, and NAF’s uber-religious sister.

I don’t think Getha will be any help right now. Rugger, do you think you can make it about 3 days?

NAF, do you remember if your sister’s hot?

Sadly (for you) no, I don’t remember. :dubious:

She is ultra religious though, and might be helpful.

I’m feeling a lot better now; I think so.

[del]Let me guess, I can’t touch your sister, either?[/del]

Depends on whether she’s hot or not…
