Another lurker expressing his gratitude that you’ve started back up. I have no desire to get lost in the world of DF, as I have better ways to waste my time (why yes, I did just reinstall Diablo II - how did you know?)… Love the write-ups, love the detail, love Auto’s love of buckets.
Ah, I very much look forward to touring the new underground living spaces. I had plans for some grand halls and bedroom complexes when I started, but had to scrap them completely because of how extensive the aquifers in the upper rock layers.
Done with my turn, savefile’s up in the other thread. One note for whoever’s next: I don’t remember changing anything in the raws to work with my tileset, so you should be good. If anything looks weird, tell me and I’ll fix it.

Thanks for encouraging me to try DF. I had heard about it before, but your posts (and the mention of Boatmurdered) convinced me to download and try it.
Maybe this time next year (when I know WTF I’m doing) I’ll sign up for a game. In the mean time I love your posts.

Crud again. Sorry folks, I keep getting by work. I have an hour and a half long train trip tomorrow which I intend to use to get started (and possibly even finished - we’ll see how it goes), but I’ll be offline so probably I’ll post an actual update the day after. Don’t worry though, the turn will be up before too much longer.
Right! I have posted some new stuff now - had a big play today, and will have another tonight and tomorrow which should hopefully carry things to a close. I’m keenly aware that I’m coming up on my week’s time limit here - if I have to be booted off the roster, so be it, just let me know via this thread and I’ll post my latest to the main jigger. And sorry about all the delays - had a bunch of going away party type stuff to do/attend over the weekend.
PS New version out. Apparently crutches work! And, y’know, a bunch of other stuff is fixed. But, crutches!
That last update ended a bit abruptly. Hope things didn’t go too badly with the Titan.
BTW, I did mod humans to send trade liaisons, and elves to have caravan guards and to send diplomats in this world. It’s a standard mod I do in every DF world I start. Elves and humans are supposed to send liaisons and diplomats, but one of the recent upgrades broke the function, so I put the positions in manually to fix what I consider a bug.
Wow. Seems like you’re getting a lot more fabulous beastie attacks than the last game.
And, I’m done! I’m afraid I’m too knackered to go around taking screenshots or uploading save files just yet - it’s half past two and I’m going to sleep. 
When I wake up though, I’ll make one last post with screenshots and the save file, and it’ll be good to go.
Tom Scud’s not wrong about the megabeasts. It’s a damn good thing that someone before me kitted out the military so well - there was a respectable amount of harrowing shit going down. I wouldn’t say it has gotten as real as it did towards the end of the last fortress, but it’s still a bit grim. I’m guessing soon the goblin ambushes will upgrade to sieges, and then we’ll really see what’s what.
By the way, question for those that came before: How did you get the military to do something other than individual combat drills? In older versions I had my guys doing demonstrations and sparring and stuff no problem, but recently all they’ve been interested in is individual drills. What am I missing?
If all goes according to plan, Ill be done with my play by Monday.

Wow, the fortress is almost out of booze. Someone should do something about that. And Autolycus is going to get really cranky if he doesn’t get some nice rooms made really soon.
Dammit! Blame my teetotaling ways. I swear I had a work order for thirty units of booze updated throughout the year - I bet it was the past rulers scoffing it all.
