My current tone is the opening bars of the theme from Speed Racer (the cartoon)…I end it with the rev of the engine. My text message tones switch between “Marcia, Marcia, Marcia” and “I’m sorry Dave, I’m afraid I can’t do that”.
I have a clip of loons calling across a lake that is good for waking up to. I also grabbed the opening percussion line from “No One is to Blame”. Very unobtrusive.
I clipped tham all in Audacity and loaded them into the phone.

I have the sound of the original Star Trek Enterprise transporter console as my message alert. Calm enough.
