Okay, that’s definitely a new one to me.
During the debate, Harris should turn to Trump and ask: "Say, Donald, are you about ready to unveil that amazing health-care plan you promised the American people…

“…eight years ago?”
I thought it sounded familiar and would be something MTG or Lauren Boebert would say.
However, I may have been thinking of this:
Holder to Gohmert: ‘Good luck with your asparagus’ (2014)
“I don’t need lectures from you about contempt,” Gohmert said.
“And I don’t need lectures from you either,” Holder snapped.
[snip]
As the chairman of the committee moved on to recognize another congressman, Holder had one more thing to say to Gohmert.
“Good luck with your asparagus,” Holder muttered.
It was a reference to a comment that Gohmert made at a House Judiciary Committee hearing last year where Gohmert said the Justice Department had failed to stop the Boston Marathon bombing. When Holder pushed back, Gohmert became annoyed and said, “The attorney general will not cast aspersions on my asparagus.” [my bold]
It remains unclear whether Gohmert intended to say asparagus or if he meant something else.
I’m not sure that even the MAGAs are as dumb as Gohmert:
‘The Dumbest Guy in Congress’ Asks U.S. Forest Service If It Can Change Moon’s Orbit
Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX), who admitted recently that some consider him “the dumbest guy in Congress,” appears intent on proving those people right. On Tuesday, the Republican congressman asked a representative of the U.S. Forest Service, tasked with managing America’s national forests and grasslands, if the agency might consider branching out, so to speak.
“I understand from what’s been testified to, the Forest Service and the [Bureau of Land Management], you want very much to work on the issue of climate change. I was informed by the past director of NASA that they’ve found the moon’s orbit is changing slightly and so is the Earth’s orbit around the sun. We know there’s been significant solar flare activity, and so — is there anything that the National Forest Service or BLM can do to change the course of the moon’s orbit, or the Earth’s orbit around the sun?” Gohmert inquired. “Obviously that would have profound effects on our climate.”
I really thought it was a common goofy way to say “aspersions”. Like if I was to ramble on with this explanation and then say, “…but I digest”.
I really thought it was a common goofy way to say “aspersions”.
Common enough for my age/geographic cohort (old, Midwest).
I hope she doesn’t do very much of any of this stuff. In addition to scoring points, she needs to show that she knows her policy points, and that she’s a much better candidate in her own right, not just a solid anti-Trumpist.
I heard part of a speech yesterday (reported on NPR and I didn’t catch where it was) where she talked about the kinds of people she prosecuted as DA, and of course the list was supposed to apply to Trump, but (in my opinion) she strayed too far from reality and mentioned things (“cheaters, who don’t follow their own game’s rules”) that aren’t criminal. It was just to get a reaction from the crowd, a reaction which started to slow down when her list got too long. She has some stuff to learn, I think, for her political stumping to be the most effective, and I hope she concentrates on learning that.
This. We must look forward. Not being Trump is part of her appeal, but should not be the focus. Of course, if another debate actually happens, she would need to be properly prepared.
We must move forward, not backward; upward, not forward; and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom!
Spotted on Facebook; not for Kamala to say, but worth spreading on social media: “Trump is what you’d get from temu if you mail ordered a dictator but wanted to go cheap.”
She didn’t even have to say it herself.
Zingers need to be short and sweet and not require explanation. I like And Bashear’s take. To paraphrase:
How’s that VP pick going for you? First he hated you but now he supports you. His problem is that he has no convictions. That’s OK, you have enough for both of you.
FWIW, I recommend leaving the zingers to the VP candidate and surrogates.
Just so everyone’s clear, this is so fucking transparent as a hoax (cite , cite ).
Hi. I’m hearing on the internet that edition 1 of the book had this story and more… but that it was all removed in edition 2 and onward.
Can you confirm ‘yeah’ or ‘neah’?
( Oh, it’s The Pit so, “Fuck Fuck Fuck, I stepped on a LEGO…” )
The way Vance’s roll-out has gone for him, maybe he needs to get back on the couch (and then get off?).
“Yes, I had to throw JD Vance off of the ticket. He was a Leftist…”
< Crowd Boos >
"Yes, I learned from confidential sources… that he was… A Castro Convertible…! "

How old was the couch?

…was it actually cheaters who broke the rules for their own gain, instead of “own game”?
I still think “Make America Great Once Again” (an inelegant MAGOA) could easily be changed to MAGOO (bonus points for knowing Russian).
But what would MAGOO mean?
Make America Great: Outsource Officialdom?
Make America GOO?
Make America Great: Offer Oil?
Make America Great: Obey Obsequiously?
Make America Good, Or Okay?
Make America Go Online Optimistically?
Make America Get Ourselves Outdoors?
(He also doesn’t like EVs.)
The Ford Pinto of Worms” is a humorous reference from the book “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” by Douglas Adams.
The character from HHGTG was Ford Prefect, not Ford Pinto, a very different car.
Ford Prefect
The Ford Prefect is a line of British cars which was produced by Ford UK between 1938 and 1961 as an upmarket version of the Ford Popular and Ford Anglia small family cars. It was introduced in October 1938 and remained in production until 1941. Returning to the market in 1945, it was offered until 1961. The car progressed in 1953 from its original perpendicular or "sit-up-and-beg" style to a more modern three-box structure. Some versions were also built and sold by Ford Australia. Like its s...

I don’t think so (happy to listen again if anyone can find that speech), but I was listening in passing on the radio. I noticed at the time that the item in the list before that also seemed questionable, but I didn’t remember later what it was so I didn’t mention it.
Mainly my point was what I said immediately before the quoted part: I hope she doesn’t focus too much on this tactic, or on zingers in general. I think she needs to spend most of her time and energy in the campaign on policy. I’m pretty sure she can count on the Democratic voters, but she needs to draw in the hesitant and undecided with good solidly-based hope for a better future.

Well, there’s this…
