I play from time to time, and I have the ability to breed pretty much any pokemon if anyone has any gaps. I’d have to dig out the games and figure out which pokemon I have on which (I have Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, and a lot of the ones on GBA). I haven’t picked it up in a while, but I could give it a go.
I stopped playing primarily because battling online was becoming thoroughly uninteresting. In order to find matches you pretty much have to go to video game forums (blech) and arrange matches with an endless horde of kids using the same ten overpowered pokemon over and over. There are no surprises, and I mostly just get my arse kicked because I try to use a little variety and something interesting in my lineup. I use my favorites, many of whom are not in the upper tiers of power.
I do from time to time find a “UU battle”, which is battling with underused Pokemon. These battles for the most part have been very satisfying because it’s people who want to play more for the fun of it than cheap wins. Don’t get me wrong, I still play strategically. I balance types and have some pretty devious movesets, I even EV train most of them (although I would never take the time to select for IVs). It’s just good to play a match where we actually surprise each other with what we throw out there instead of repeating the same battles over and over again.
Which ones do you see a lot? I beat the elite four but I am training a second, more rounded team. The average is about lvl 35. My favorite is Vulpix, but unfortunately I don’t have room for him. My fire slot on my team is taken by Houndour because he is a fire/dark. Shame
Speaking of which, in Pear, where do I find the Pal Pad and fire stones?
The Pokemon Center in Oreburgh, check the basement and one of the clerks should have it. You can find fire stones by the ton in the Underground, just remember to add them to your items before you head back to the surface.
Well, I think I’ll be able to get you a Meganium and Quilava. I can give you a Zangoose which I caught in Platinum by doing the dual slot with Ruby. Since I have two, I’ll be happy to trade you one.
My dad says we can trust you so no need for Palkia collateral. We can trade Deoxys back and forth.
When should we trade? How about tomorrow afternoon?
Tomorrow afternoon is or evening is fine. Say 5 EST? We can also battle before or after the trades, I’d just need a couple minutes to log off and pick up my team. If you aren’t in the mood, though, it can wait for next time. I might spring a Rayquaza on you next week, though.
To summarize
Cleffa w/ moon stone <-> Meganium (or you can breed a Chikorita if you want to keep your original)
Sunkern <-> Quilava
Koffing <-> Zangoose (Do you have Sapphire? I have a couple Sevipers if you need one.)
Slugma <-> Whatever (I already have one bred, so just give me a Starly or Wurmple or something common. Consider it a thank you for letting me look at Deoxys )
A female Eevee! I’ve been trying to find one of those for a friend. Thanks.
I gave each of the starters Pokerus since I didn’t know whether you had any infected yet. The Bulbapedia article explains it if you didn’t know about it.
I’ve beaten the Elite Four so now I’m currently building up another team. They’re averaged lvl 35. Now that I have those three I’m thinking of building another team. Hm, decisions decisions.
Evolved starters tend to be good additions to late game teams, especially Charmander, Mudkip, and Turtwig. If you need a Mudkip I have a few. Maybe you have a Tropius or a Hoppip?
ETA: The 3 legendaries in each game tend to be great, but not in D/P. They’re all Psychic! And mediocre!
It’s not too big a deal; he just needs it so a male Eevee that evolves into whatever can pass on some moves to the baby. I’ll breed myself a female before I hand it over to him anyways.
