Twick and I already discussed it (via PM) so she knows I’m open to anything. All the choices sound good, and while I don’t know much about the geography (I’m staying at Market/12th), I’m sure I can find it via cab/metro just fine.
At the Marriott? Turn right coming out of the hotel onto Market and go up to 13th. Turn left on 13th and walk down to Walnut (third light: one at Chestnut, one at Sansom, third at Walnut). Turn right. Walk five blocks up to 17th – Pietro’s is on the left side of the street about halfway up the block. Ten minute walk.
7:30 is ok with me, Pietro’s is fine; food is good (mmm pizza; the lasagna’s not bad either) and a reasonable walk from Suburban Station and 12th/Market alike. Also from City Hall station, which is probably how I will arrive.
It looks like I have some free time on Mon & maybe Tues night, too. Any nightlife recommendations in my neck-of-the-woods?
I’m not much of a nightlife person … what are you into? The Trocadero is right around the corner from there, that’s kind of a punk place. (Pierced young people of some sort, I’m not sure of what genre.) If you have a good indie movie theater at home, there’s probably nothing of interest at the Ritz[actually three separate theaters, but in local parlance referred to in the singular in casual conversation, e.g. “What’s at the Ritz this weekend?”].

Thanks Twick, the Ritz looks great actually, since I still have some catching up to do. I’m not much of a clubber but am always open to discovering new things so I’ll take a look at your other link, too. 
Philly Fun Guide is a catch-all for all kinds of events around town, not just (or even primarily) clubs. I get their weekly email offer of half-price tickets, which is why I forgot they also had a website.

Sounds like it’s going to be a small group, though my friend M. may be joining us, depending on how the rest of his day works out.
Finally getting back into the swing of things back in sunny CA, but wanted to thank twickster, DocCathode, and ryobserver for such awesome hospitality. I really enjoyed dinner and the company, and I got some good recs for my free day in Philly. Altogether, a successful Dopefest for my first time, I’m much obliged to them all.
