For a libertarian liberal, he sure needs a whole lot of special rules just to protect his oh-so-sensitive butthurt ass from any hint of disagreement. How many special rules did he try to demand from the (patient far beyond the call of duty) mods at Domebo? And here?

As far as I know, he’s the only poster here who’s ever whined until he got a special rule made for him regarding how no-one can mock his user-name anywhere (including in the Pit) and there were like 8 spin-off threads that came out of the confusion that rule caused before it was retracted

I have never had a problem with Liberal, personally. But I have noticed a tendency for him to turn on people without provocation as far as I can see. For example, what he had to say about What Exit in this thread was uncalled for, and completely mischaracterizes what happened over at domebo. What Exit has been invaluable to the board for being a voice of reason and a calming influence while we have been trying to work out what kind of rules and guidelines we want to have over there. It’s great to have someone with a genuinely nice and friendly demeanor to help guide these discussions, and at no time have I seen What Exit ever trying to be anything but helpful to the posters and to the board in general. Any questioning he did of the sock rule was only in the interest of figuring out what the best solution was for the board, as far as I could tell, and Liberal’s sniping at him about it as though What Exit had it in for him personally is unfair.

Or where he went apeshit over a (good) project, but when one poster asked one question, he bailed, yanked down the website he’d committed to keep up (after press releases were apparently sent out) and asked to be banned again. (This is after starting a pit thread to complain that people weren’t jumping quickly enough at his command and taking over another thread )

This really has nothing to do with your bashing campaign (which doesn’t bother me in the least, by the way. If you derive enjoyment from it, then I am delighted for you.) But it is tangentially related to the particular comment quoted, and I want to let people know who care about it. We lost the OurDawson website completely not quite a year ago. It was the decision of the child’s mother. (Dawson, some of you may recall, was our grandson who died of brain cancer.)

She requested that it be taken down because of hacking and because of heartbreakingly cruel comments left in the guestbook, which she couldn’t control because she had no FTP access to the site. My wife did most of the site maintenance, but with her new job and its two-hour commute, she could not deal with the site until weekends. But not every weekend was free. We often had family get togethers and whatnot. At any rate, several of you posted touching and beautiful remarks there that the mother (our daughter) has printed out and still cherishes. For this, many many thanks.

I think I do still have the Fred Phelps flash show, though. If anyone wants to see it and knows of a host that will host flash files, I’ll gladly post it for you.
