His thread was no different than a million other “introduce yourself”/“get to know each other” threads around here every day. He was inviting people to say hello. The predictable and loathsome part was when you, et al, walked in, dropped trou, bent over, stuck your dick between your asscheeks, and started spinning it around like a hippo’s tail as you shit into the thread.
If you don’t like it, don’t fucking read it.
And of course you realize the absurdity of starting a whole new thread about someone you’re accusing of being an attention whore, so I don’t need to bother making fun of you for that, right?
Yes, of course, everyday a member for ten years with 39,000 posts feels it necessary to introduce himself.

It was a harmless post in MPSIMS inviting people who don’t often visit the forum to introduce themselves.
I’ve had my run-ins with Liberal on these boards. I’ve called him some pretty awful things, and received similar treatment in return. And even when we’re getting along, we still don’t always agree with one another. But this thread makes it appear as if you’re just looking for an excuse to go after him.
I understand the feeling, because there are people on this board who annoy me so much that i’m tempted to make sarcastic or insulting comments whenever we cross paths. Hell, there have probably been times when Liberal has been one of those people. But i try (not always successfully) to resist the urge to snark just for the sake of it, and i think that starting a thread on such slim pretenses is pretty poor form.
Your opinion, I will pay attention to. However, I disagree with it.
Liberal is attempting to engage with fresh meat, with people who are not, as a rule, familiar with his GD/Pit pattern of “How insightful, what a wonderful poster you are!”/“You wouldn’t say that if you didn’t hate me!”
This is not the only message board on which he’s followed that pattern, it’s only the message board on which the pattern has been most prolific.
Were it not for Liberal, I wouldn’t know anything at all about Ludwig von Mises and the Austrian School of Economics. The fact that I don’t know more is because the subject bores me to tears, but what little I do know, I owe to him.
I am intrigued that the advertisement that pops up right after Frank’s post (viewable since I am a low-rent Guest) is for a website that aims to connect “established” men with big bucks, and ostensibly younger women with big, uh, ambitions to meet “sugar daddies”.
It does seem a bit crude to drag the poor ladies into a thread about attention whoring.
If I ever felt the need to create a thread like that, I think it would be solid proof that my life was completely devoid of any merit whatsoever.

Look - **Lib’s **crazy, OK? We all know that. He’s been marching to his own personal drum for as long as he’s been here. But he’s a polite, smart and generally affable soft of crazy, and all in all, I think he adds quite a lot to this board.

What you describe here is the basic format of any ice-breaker. People introduce themselves, say hello, check in, offer support and encouragement, etc. I fail to see the problem with that, especially in a forum like MPSIMS where people are welcome to post about anything and are generally pretty friendly.
