Likely sentence for stabbing.

Two groups of men get into a drunken rowl. One group is a bunch of young civilian males and the other a bunch of soldiers, navy. A fight erupts and is ruled as both groups fault. Two soldiers stab a civilian five times in the torso.

What do you think will be a likely sentence?

Depends on who gets to try the Sailors[sup]†[/sup] and what the court determines actually happened. Also depends on if the stabbing victim lives or dies.

[sup]†[/sup]Soldiers = Army
Sailors = Navy
Marines = Marine Corps
Airmen = Air Force (although there are junior Enlisted (E1~3 in the Navy who have the designation Airman)
Coast Guardsmen = Coast Guard

Is this in the US? In what state, provided the men are not tried by a military court?

Your answer is- you can’t have one! Legal questions with so many variables are usually unanswerable.
