Yeah, the Democrats have the cunning to stage what would have to be a years-long sting operation like this, AND somehow get Republican leadership to play into their hands by ignoring it - and at the same time, they lacked the wherewithal to beat George W. Bush in a Presidential election. And for that matter, I don’t know if this is confined to only one page. CNN is reporting that Foley had cybersex with a page and that “former pages” turned over the transcripts.
Rush’s people can take this seriously if they want, there’s no way the public will.

The only reason why people believe this is because there have been too many allegations on the part of the Democrats of an “October Surprise”, and the timing stinks on this one, especially since it’s been known for a while.
I personally don’t believe in “October Surprises” (with the exception of LBJ’s bombing halt which actually worked to an extent), but that’s really what it comes down to. People see this as an attempt to sway the election, just like they did in 2004 with Dan Rather and the Killian documents.
It was a brilliant operation going back to the mid 90’s. They could have broken it to distract from Clinton’s impeachment, but they didn’t. Could have used it right before the Bush-Gore election… man, it could have had a big impact in Florida. But they cleverly saved it for when the knew it would do the most damage… right…

It now occurs to me that this happened in 2003, while this other kid who turned over his questionable-but-not-definitely-sick e-mails was a page in 2005. Therefore Foley at least tried to get it on with multiple kids. So yes- mehow the Democrats have this kind of operational skill with Capitol Hill pages, but can’t get their own base out to vote. Of course, the difference in a 52 year old having an affair with a 22 year old, and a 52 year old conducting one with a 16 year old are completely different, regardless of the sexes of the persons involved.
Still, if I’m reading the quote right, it’s amazingly close to an apt comparison - ignoring a major point, rather than introducing an irrellevant one as though it was meaningful (ie: the claim that the Dems would have supported him because he’s gay).
What you don’t understand is that Mark Foley is a Gay Pedophile Democrat (GPD), working undercover. The Democratic party sought volunteers from among it’s gay pedophile wing, which I understand IS its largest wing, to infiltrate the Republican party as an actual elected official.
